Need some rain tires?

Here is a post from the Detroit SCCA forum. A pair of the regional Neons running the Toyo R1R's

Looks like some good wet grip to me

I just saw an add for those and was wondering how they worked. Guess they work pretty well huh. I know they are called "R1R" but are they R comp tires? Figured they were, but with a tread pattern like that they look like they'd do well on the road normally, but maybe wear really fast if they are R comps.

They are not R-comps. They are street tires. I have not heard too much about them as they are just hitting the market within the past few months.

Looks like the wet grip is there though.

That's good news. I'll follow the reviews on how they do then. With the name R1R I wondered if they actually were R comps. Maybe these will give the F1's and KDW's a run, depending on how much they are.
