Thanks, Rebel Redline. Knowing that the ECM can only run one map is really helpful. It's also good to hear someone's experience with supply vs hp. I guess I will have to factor that into the tune when I get there, but 91 may be the best option.

I think Redline1313 was saying that I could opt for 92 rather than 93, because in my area I can't get 93, but I can get 91 and husky has 94. I'm not too sure though.

I know it's only one octane - there are less 93 places for me anyways

What would the hp gain be from one or two octane?

With a gm stage three tune you would notice no noticeable difference from 2 octane points. I run husky 94 and if you have the option I'd recommend it, better to be on the safe side, you certainly won't notice a power lots from 2 extra octane points.

Thanks flatgod I appreciate the info! Just don't want to put a kit on and not get the most out of it. I'll double check the Husky's around here to make sure that they all have 94. I know the one closest to me does.

Edmonton Alberta here, I have three friends here that drive Redlines. Met one at a meet, saw another in the parking lot at work a lot and figured out whose it is, and the met the last one online and asked her a bunch of questions before buying mine! The one at work actually owns three, two are just parts cars though. I know of two others in the city.

With HPTuners and a wideband, you can optimize your setup for whatever flavor fuel you like. Even easier if you tune in lambda like I do.

Canned tunes are a bit different. Most seem to be optimized for 91 octane.

Only benefit from octane above 91 is the ability to run more timing. More timing without knock = More power.

For example, on a 2.8 pulley with E10 93, I could consistently run 17° of timing WOT, on E85, I could run 25°. Netted a 17whp gain on the dyno...
