I have a 2004 Ion Redline and one e-brake cable is broken. Coming up for inspection and have to replace it. I can't find one. Searched all the usual, Napa, Advance, Dorman, Dealer. Anyone know where to get one or how to fit a different one?

It would probably be a dealership only item. Or you could check gmpartsdirect.com maybe even a junkyard might have one

Thanks djames for the reply. I went to the dealer this morning No luck. They searched the nationwide network. I'm working on junkyards now.

I have the same problem. Dealer said part is discontinued. Rock auto said they had them. Ordered them but they are not what was on the car. Rock auto sent me a cable that had a long spring on the end that went to the brake. Old one didn’t. Still not having any luck

Supposedly the Cobalt SS cables work if you swap in the right parts. I have not tested myself.

15875458 brake cables
15233595 cable guide tube
15233596 cable guide tube
16318359 adjuster

I got the guide tubes and adjuster at local u pull it for $2 a set and 4 cables of jet.com for $35.84 total after I ordered a lone pair of cables the first time just to see if it would work. So for $20 a car, I got ebrakes again. And a 3rd set for if I ever get my 06 running. Other 2 cars are both 04s. The ss brake ends are different at the handle side, ones bullet shaped and other is just cylindrical so thats why went with the cobalt adjuster too. And cobalt and redline adjusters are a little different length also
