So. The Psi-Fi Motorsports redline got to take a run against a Psi-Fi Motorsports mildly modified SRT4 (Big front mount, WGA, and boost controller). The response from the SRT owner:

"Dude, that thing is SICK! I could hear the supercharger from BEHIND the car."

I was able to jump him out of the hole, and run with him till 4th gear, then he started to pull a little bit. Not bad for "Just a Saturn".

We should be getting the car to the track next weekend if the weather holds. We'll let everyone know.

Is there going to any video? I'd really like to see & hear what it can do.

we are just ironing out the kit specifics, and putting alot of miles on the car to verify the tune. everything looks good and we are planning some dyno and track testing as well as side by side comparisons to a stock redline. we are also planning on installing the kit on a local persons car(i have some PM's from interested persons i will be answering)
So about how long do we have to wait before we can purchase the kit.

we pushed the button on the pulleys, we should have for sale items in about 1 month!
How many parts will be in the kit you guys will be selling?
Awesome!

Can't wait to see what that thing does on the dyno.

Its a bunch of stuff we are not going to disclose till we have parts on the shelf ready to ship. quite a bit of R&D went into this project as well as alot of time sourcing the correct parts and tuning. its a complete balanced package :D
Will I really need to buy a larger exhaust for this kit? I thought that I read in another thread that the stock exhaust was good for up to 400 hp? Can anyone conferm this? I know that by making the piping larger it will breath a little better. The thing is I can only purchase 1 or the other. You know most bang for the buck. Also is this something the diy guy can handle?
Mark, how easy will this kit be to DIY???

I don't think I'd have any trouble installing all the mechanical stuff, but the computer tuning might throw me for a loop. Is it something that any decent mechanic should be able to do fairly easy?

The only restriction on the stock exhaust is the muffler and a piece of pipe that goes down to 2.25" right before the muffler. All you'd have to get done is replace that one piece (about 3 ft) with 2.5" pipe and put a highflow muffler on. I got this done at a local shop for $149.

Have you crawled under and looked at the stock muffler? That thing is a beast. I noticed a bit of improvement with the magnaflow and pipe upgrade.

the factory exhaust is not that bad. we have put over 300whp down on a similar sized exhaust on the SRT's. while there are some improvements that can be made in the redline exhaust, youll definintely get more bang for the buck with our upgrade package. it requires some special tools like a pulley puller and some soldering skills but by no means is it a hugely difficult job! we are debating having anthony got to various cities and do pulley parties, where we get several installs lined up for various locations.

Yes I concur the factory exhaust is surprisingly a nice part until you hit the 2.25 inch extension and the muffler.

Okay, I'll set up the installs for Vegas, California, and the Bahamas!!! :D

I have to concur with Mark on the install. I'm the resident avererage installer and I don't have any problems tackling this kit. Anthony can knock out most of the install in an hour or two, where it takes me a little longer then that, but he's the professional engineer. As with all of our products, we will do a complete write-up start to finish, with illustrations, after the kit is released.
IF you guys go to different cities to install that would be awesome. I'm all for this as soon as you guys get it out. I can't wait.
when you do tampa you will have at least 5.

Also are you guys tuning this for the stock computer setup or the newly updated systems. I just wanna make sure now that I have the updates your kits wont make a lean condition anywhere in the power band.

funny you say that now that we have the stock map tuned, we are planning on going to get the ecm reflashed at saturn and see how that affects the tune... there are several things we saw while datalogging even the bone stock car that were in a word bad tuning from the factory, very inconsistent sometimes. if it turns out the reflash is a better starting point we will recommend all that use our upgrade path to get the reflash before modifying!

if someone could point me to any information on the reflash and what it changes in the tune that would be awesome!

thanks,

mark
moslty the a/f ratios at cold and how it controls fuel when hot all together. Its a whole new map they use. I saw the original vs remap and its insane how bad they started off. If you have a map for the base car throw it out becuase its not gonna be any good for the upgrade.
