all the info on the redline, says it is 205hp and all that jazz. but is that at the wheels? or the flywheel? and im curious to know if the 230hp of the srt is based on the wheels or the flywheel as well..

ive looked, but cant seem to come up with the answer..

Both the Redline and SRT-4 are underrated. The manufactures rate their hp numbers to the flywheel not the ground. Most Redlines have been dynoing from 200 to 210 hp to the ground. So technically Saturn could say the car has 230 hp or so. The SRT-4 is also very underrated...

they both seem to put down what they're rated at from the factory, that's the way it should be

with the exception on mine, but i've done mine on a mustang dyno which had an SRT with bigger intercooler, boost controller, exhuast, intake/hardpipes, and a bunch of other stuff put down 220 to the wheels, in comparison, my redline put down 187 with only the airbox removed

SRT-4 is underrated... car on average(2004-2005) put out 225-235whp stock with some freaks doing 240whp. torque is where the SRT-4 is good at with a nice 245-252wtq.

our 2003 did 215whp/246wtq and ran a best of [email protected] stock(2.16 60ft).
On our dyno the highest stock SRT-4 whp has been on a 238whp/252wtq(electric blue :).

We now have over 400+whp on the stock motor except for the Larger turbo and fuel system.

I hope these kind of power levels can be achieved with the 2.0L ecotec without cracking the motor to do internals.

When adam dynoe'd the header on the redline it put out more horsepower to the wheels than an 04 srt-4. See the graph, whatever it was--like 230 or somerthing. He said there was an srt-4 owner there who was pissed when he saw that.

Header was about 230 hp and 200 ft-lbs torque vs stock at 210 hp and 185 ft-lbs torque

If I remember right, he said that he did not want to tell who dyno'ed the veh beacuse he did not want to answer phone calls all day. Said nothing about the numbers, though

yeah, if it dissapointed some SRT, then they must've dyno's lower than the 230, and i'd hope their torque was still higher though, just wondering what kind of a difference it made
