Mine, like others mentioned here on the board bucks as soon as it goes into 2nd, then everything's fine. I needed new wipers and the car is only 2 weeks old so I brought it back for the wipers (n/c thanks Saturn) and mentioned the bucking. They said, " there's no code recorded, we checked the linkage, and even call the Saturn Tech Line and nothing". He was very accomodating and said if it doesn't break-in (since I only have 1200 miles) by the first oil change, make sure you mention it again and they'll take another stab at it. He said this is the first he has heard of it but also mentioned there aren't many out there yet. I said members on the board have complained about it and he said if they brought them in to be checked out instead of complaining on the board they would all be logged, perhaps it would draw additional attention and not rule it as an isolated case as mine.

So let's draw attention, unless mine is the only one that bucks...

same here

I've also been having this problem with my RL too... I just thought I was driving it too hard. I can rarely "squawk" the tires when I redline first gear and then pop the clutch and slam it into second, but if I just ease into second a little bit the tires turn over.

I am not 100% sure its the same problem you're having but it seems like there is some sort of "hesitation" before the carm seems the "pickup" in second gear.

I've been having a similar problem to what the original poster said.

I'm not sure if I'm possibly doing something wrong, but when shifting from 1st to 2nd during normal driving I get a noticable buck in the transmission. The car is brand new and I'm considering taking it to get looked at at the dealership.

Anyone have a workaround for this or is it a known problem?

I HAVE noticed that double clutching seems to make the problem go away. SynchroMesh problem maybe?

I have no problems with this. This is also my first manual car.

During normal driving I give it a little gas as I ease out th clutch I don't buck at all.
