Temps in the mid 70's, sunny, the wind that plagued Vegas all week let up just for us it seemed like - really, other than trouble getting slicks to stay warm between runs, it was a PERFECT day for autocross. Very fun and tricky course with a couple of insanely tight hairpins being the only gripe from most people, and while they were VERY tight, they weren't THAT bad.

Unfortuneatly I don't have pics, forgot my camera! Ionic05 came out in his non-comp IRL on street tires and also did extremely well for his first event! He's a natural, and I think he's gonna be a lifer, lol. Get him a LSD and some DOT slicks, and he'd be right on my ass!

On to the mild bragging part, it looks like I'm finally figuring out this car...

And finally, a good reason to NOT take fun-runs: It really sux when you 'fix it' right away in fun runs, and your time woulda taken you from 22nd to 14th in raw times and from 7th to 3rd in pax! 2nd fun run (cold tires 1st one) I ran a 45.980, just shy of 7 full 10ths off my recorded best, and clean, too! Grrr... But at least I learned something about trusting my car in a situation where apparently I didn't yet, so chalk it up to making me faster next time...

EDIT: WTF - my link isn't working here, but the exact same link works on another forum..?

77 total drivers. I was far more proud of my #7 finish in overall PAX, as Top 10 is always my goal here, and for one reason or another I have been not making it lately (usually 12th-15th). Finally got the tires set right and the car sorted out and did what I shoulda been doing all along, lol.

And the frustration here was my best run right out of the gate in fun runs was a 45.980, which woulda put me 14th raw and 3rd PAX! Grr.

sooo much fun

I have got to say autocross is my new vice. Actually driving the IRL like it wants to be, absolutley amazing. It was like go karting on steroids!
I just saw the results and im flabbergasted. My IRL out ran porches vettes subis evos and just about every other car i thought would trounce ours. I ended up 26th overall. I can definitley live with that.
And Bigbrother truly lived up to his moniker. He showed me what was really up, and then he posts one of the best times of the day. And everyone there was awsome, they are quick to offer advice or even just let you jump in and ride along. I even had one guy offer for me to run a lap in his lotus elise in the next event, that was the perfect end to the perfect day. I reccomend autocross to anyone who enjoys driving, it is the ultimate format to prove what you and your car are made of. Lifer ? I think that might me an understatement.

Autcross is awesome, those look to be some good times your putting down.

I have one more event left this season, cant wait. The standings or the regionals came out, I won DS overall this year. There were only 4 other cars, and none competed in all the events so I am hoping there are more next year.
