I got this from the Cobalt site. This is a link to the pages with Ion's but there are alot of other good pics scattered throughout.

Competition package
Additional photos

Tried to post a couple of the pics but couldn't. Anyway on the first page there is a pic of the boost gauge, fogs, and the wheels a little. Also a descriptive prinout of the package. On the second there are a few other Ions, one looks to be a turboed 2.2 heavily modded inside and out. That other Ion with the paint is in there somewhere.

I'll probably wait for this to come out and get it put on. It seems I'll be spending the amount I got in rebates just to catch up with this package. It would be nice to have the LSD.

it depends, id rather get some nice aftermarket brand wheels, but if they look good enough, why not?

That blue 2.2L Ion has a Vortech supercharger on it, not a turbo. Funky.

That boost gauge pod looks kinda silly, too. :(
i feel the same way about the boost gauge, hopefully that's not the official saturn one, as i was under the impression it would be a boost gauge/tach combo with the boost gauge built into the face of the tach

I'm not a big fan of that boost gauge just looks out of place. I rather have a pilar but I think I'm just going to do some custom work and mount it some where else. I would like to see the rims though

thats what i heard too. I was hoping they'd put everything behind the steering wheel... or at least everything together. you have to look at your steering wheel to see the boost and to your right to see everything else... doesnt make much sense to me. I know saturn is just trying to be different... but theres a reason you dont scatter your gauges all over the place :(

I do not like the boost gauge either, I think Saturn could have made if flow a little better than that!

The LSD is good to here for you guys though!!

Was their any other upgrades annouced at Sema for the Redline?

Stg3 for the SRT4 was on display and started shipping yesterday :) :)...400whp here we come

I hope that anyone that is going to put that more HP on the SRT-4 is going to build the motor up or it won't last long.

But that is pretty sweet.

As usual misinformation infests another one, I am sorry if the below comes off in the wrong way but people really need to educate themselves before posting...it would be like me stating the Redline will blow up at 250hp LOL :(

Please note that Mopar has just release the Mopar Stg3 upgrade which in bolt on form with the stock intake, exhaust and IC puts down 325whp on pump gas and 365whp on race gas...they have had this kit on test cars for well over 50,000miles without any failures and have run into the 11's consistently on slicks with the race gas engaged :), imagine adding a 3 inch exhaust, larger IC and a CAI...easy 400hp.
Also note that to date their are MANY SRT4 owners in the 450+whp on the stock longbocks (many with 20,000 or more miles on the cars too), these motors are very strong and have forged internals in stock form though the pistons are the weakest link they are still good to around 600whp if you have a good tune...far from weak but still needs to be pointed out.

A company I deal with in the US put down 530whp and 565wtq last month and ran a 11.1 @ 136mph...again all on the STOCK longblock and stock suspension at that!

Hope this helps clear up some confusion...next time you will read before you post!

I am honestly hopeing you guys get the aftermarket support!! I mean it is a good platform to start off with and I can not see why companies would not make parts though so far its seems to be the case :(.

The domestics still rule the streets as of now :)

OK, here's the official bulletin from Saturn. It just became available this mornin.

Saturn Bulletin said:
The correct MSRP of the ION Red Line Competition Package is $1470

The Package has the following content:
- Limited slip differential
- Column-mounted boost gauge with programmable illuminated ladder tachometer. The ION Red Line is the only vehicle that has the illuminated tachometer.
- Projector beam fog lamps
- Custom grey painted wheels with accent polished rim

The Competition Package will become an orderable option starting February 2005 production and will further supercharge the ION Red Line sales, which have been increasing every month since launch.

Just give me the LSD and the projector fog lights and I will be happy. As far as the boost gage/tach and the wheels go, I'd rather find my own. I'd prefer black to gun metal since I have a black RL. The boost gage/tach I'm unsure about the placement of it. I would have to really find a comfortable spot for it.
