Well, the AEM has been awaiting CARB approval for about 3 months now (maybe longer) and now K&N is teasing us with one as well.

I'm so tempted just to by that K&N drop in but have been waiting for the intakes.

Come on with 'em already!!!

just wait it out, what is the K&N, $50 or so, might as well get it free with the intake and have a nice looking setup. i'll be ending up with the AEM setup because i've liked their products.

I'm getting impatient with them too! I want the Intake already!! I already bought the K&N drop in and made my own intake but I want that AEM with the air horn! my car will be even louder then!!

It sounds like a helicopter now

Hey guys, new to the site, picking up my silver 04 redline within the next 2 weeks.

JPK, do happen to have a sound clip of your car? im dying to here the blower whine from the intake on a redline. my mom has an 04 GTP comp G and with just a cone filter it really screams with just the filter it went 14.6 at 96 with a 2.35 60ft., im wondering if the redline would sound louder or different since its a different blower and is putting out more boost.

At first i thought i was gonna go with K&N but then i am not sure if i can get a Blue one from AEM i think i would go with them i have never had an after market intake does any one have any preferences of one over the other i like the sound of the bypass valve in the AEM i am not sure if K&N makes one but i do like the sound of that espically with where the filter is currently

Sorry for the bad news but I got a message last night from a tech support guy at AEM and said it will be another three months before they launch the intake.

Looks like I'll buy the K&N E-1009 and remove the air box but leave the bottom splash guard in. I've seen other K&N heat shields so I'll make one to shield it from the transmission.
