I've been thinking about that a lot and might do a slight drop but I have a couple concerns. This is my only car and the winters here can be nasty. plus, I got stuck at the bottom of a steep hill that leveled off onto a road. I had to reverse and take another route. lowering it I know I'm going to mash the front end.

right gotcha. Im hoping to see a air suspension kit before the end of summer. That would be sweet. Rainy season here puts most of the road in 6 inches of water.

Do you think 18" will help fill some of the empty space in the wheel well. Any down-side to it (other than inacurate speedometer)?

Well not sure what to say because the cause of the fire isn't known. It was a 1998 GTP Coupe. The mods were SC pulley, K&N CAI, 3" exhast. These mods were done in year 1 and never had a problem with the car. It was well maintained and had no leaks and no signs of any issues.

I was on my way home from work and started to feel a power loss. It was evening rushour in February and I worked my way to the shoulder to see what's going on. It stalled as soon as I reached the shoulder. I went to the hood to check it out and saw a red/orange glow coming out from under the car. The flames shot out from the hood opening.
I got out of the way and called 911.
When the firedepartment got there they opened the hood and fire shot up 6'.

Before they had a chance to even try put out the fire, my 2 week old tires blew, I watched my bumper melt off like it was liquid, my engine then exploded and dropped to the ground send sparks everywhere.

The insurance company didn't investigate because I had no prior claims and it would cost them too much to have a specialist investigate the cause. It was better for them to settle. To this day I still don't know what caused it.

My 98 GTP also had a fire like that, It was contained to the interior and under the dash. The car got totaled out of course, blew out both airbags and the front windshield. Fortuatly didn't touch the motor so I bought the car back for $1000 and keeped all my mods now I drive this little 12 second fellow.

RIP

they won't, with an 18" wheel, you'll need more narrow tires, at least if the tire shop does it's job...

Nice car. Which one do you have now the red or black?
That 3.8SC is a great engine. Rock solid and a lot can be done with it. The tranny is a different story... it can be a little ify.
