Anybody know about Auto-X in Michigan?

I'm from southeast Michigan (about a half hour north of Ann Arbor) and am looking forward to doing some auto-cross and road racing this summer once I actually get my redline (another couple days, hopefully!). Anybody have information regarding where they are, when, how much to enter, etc.?

It'd be greatly appreciated.

There is a lot of them held at Grattan Raceway in which is in Belding just outside Grand Rapids. Also at Gingerman Raceway in South Haven. To find all the auto x races go to myautoevents.com. They have a list of a lot of events.
i know there was a an autocross event right down the road from me in flint, but im not sure if their coming back. ill post some news as soon as a find it.
Right down the road which way? because I live in Hartland, which is roughly 20 min. south of Flint. I've heard they do auto-x races at my school (washtenaw community college) in the summer from a guy I know with a turbo Vibe, but I haven't heard from him in a while. Saw him on the road tonight, actually, but I digress. But I'll definitely want to race my Redline this summer.
oh i hear ya man, i didnt have my redline in the summer, so i didnt enter with my cavalier. It was at the GM Delta plant in Flint. Im not sure if there coming back to this location or not this year.

But we deff have to get together this season and rep for saturn.
Go to www.scca.org, click on solo II. There are two (or three, i forget) regions in our area. There are a lot of auto-x's, and if you're willing to travel, i think you can auto-x almost every weekend (between as far west as k-zoo, in ohio cinci and toledo, as far east as detroit, and as far north as midland). Hopefully i'll have my redline in 4-6 weeks (what saturn told me), and as soon as i get a few K miles on the car, oh baby, auto-x here i come!!!!!
ok you guys seem close enough. i live in owosso 30min from everywhere and wanna race a redline. no money no nothing just wanna meet car enthusists like myself.

Al my probelm too. Next week I will apply when I have funding for that. And registration ends on the 16th I think

Let me know if you are going. If I (or we) can't make the class maybe we can go watch on sunday.
Just got an email back from the guy running the class and stuff. I asked him if it was possible to apply for a membership on the spot. This is his reply.

It's really best to do it beforehand. The quickest way to take care of
it is to call the SCCA national office directly at (800) 770-2055. You
can do everything over the phone and they'll give you your membership
number right there on the spot which you can use to register.

Im gonna call today. I hear they take forever to process stuff by mail
looks like there are 2 RL's allready registered for the event

I wonder is the second one (Debbink, Bryan) is JPAPA?
Well I tried calling the SCCA twice today and was on hold for about 20 min. each time before I hung up. The hold music is terrible.
Woot :D Im registered!! once I got to talk to someone it only took a few minutes.
so far we got 5 RL's commin to the Detroit region racing school :D . This is gonna be fun. Any of you guy have any suggestions on what job to take. I was thinking that setup or a corner worker would be fun for a begginer
Oh this is going to be SOOOOOO fun. Calling SCCA righjt now.

edit: they don't take checks by phone. Damn
sweet!!!!! :D

edit: bummer

Nope that isn't me. I just registered for the site though, but I haven't registered for SCCA or any schools yet. It's something that I really want to get into, but we'll see if I'll be able to this summer. Kind of afraid to since my RL is a lease...and budget will be kind of tight and I would want to buy seperate competition tires to use.
we got 7 now woot :D
Hey everyone,

Unfortunatly I will not be able to attend this meet due to work. However, I may be able to attend Sunday's drive test as a spectator. See how you all do and whine about how I can't join in the fun.

Hope you guys (or Gals) learn something. Make sure you pass your new found knowledge to the rest of us. Enjoy and Be Safe
