does anyone have a K&N CAI in there car yet? What was the hp gain? How easy was the install? Iknow Modern Performance has said 7-9 hp but i want to here it from a RL owner like yourselves!

hp gain is negligible as an only mod, but it would help more with an upgraded exhaust. install is easy as pie, took me about 2 hours putzing around. if you got to it and didn't take a break, it'll easily be done in under 1.5 hours.

I got one. Install wasnt to bad, even for me and my limited hands on experience. Judging my my ass dynos, Id say 8-12 hp gain. Keep in mind my ass dyno isnt 100% dialed in. I also have a exhaust so keep what vita said in mind... results may vary

I didn't notice much of a power gain on mine, but the car does seems to breathe easier. Install wasn't hard I did mine in about 2 hours but I was defenintly taking my time. It comes with a nice set of directions that have a picture for every step.

My favorite part about the intake is the WHHHIIIIINNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEE.

Its not too bad. More of a pain in the ass to install it than hard to install. I would allow 2 hours so you can take your time and do it right. I dont think the performance gain is anything worth writing home about. I can say that shiny silver pipe coming off the side of the motor does look pretty impressive when you po the hood.

and it sounds way better, even better than simply removing the airbox. it was raspy, now it's smooth

i've got it on my redline. pretty easy install. i had an advantage though. i had a hoist to work on.

Just a little insight here guys. When I put the CAI on my firebird I was very dissapointed that I did not feal much of a difference. Got it out to the track though and I had picked up .3 on my ET and 2 MPH on my trap.

There's a difference, I can't put it into numbers, but the feel of the car in certain situations is different. The front end feels a little looser when you're getting near redline, and the wheels slip a little in 2nd if you dont have great traction. That's as unbiased as I can be... I don't want to say 12hp at 5500 rpms or anything...
