So I have tried searching for the barometric pressure sensor part #12580698, but have been entirely unable to find it. I saw in a gto forums post that it was superceded by the part #12615136. While searching this new number I've also come across part #1948810, and all 3 of these parts seem to be identical from pictures. Would I be able to use #12615136 in place of my stock sensor #12580698?
Here is the picture I took of the current sensor on the car.
At this point I'm sure it has to be the sensor that is dead because of a DTC code for the baro sensor, and I have replaced the baro sensor connector and checked the wires from the baro sensor connector to the pcm connector for continuity, all wires are good. When my tuner first saw this issue he said it looks like the sensor is unplugged (which it isn't) so it's giving the pcm zero information whatsoever.
If you all have any special insight into the baro sensor it would be greatly appreciated.
