Ok guy's and gal's. I'm trying to prepare for my first run at the strip in 31 yrs. I think I'm ready. I just want to list what I've done so far to improve my times. Let me know what you think and by all means if you have suggeations....let me know.
1. Removed all seat's except a 5 gal bucket ( I have to sit on something ).
2. I stuffed 323 homeing pigeons in the trunk. When the light goes green i'll bang on the side of the car to get them airborne and that way i'll have less weight and the car will actually be lighter.
3.I've put 11 gal of jet fuel in 2 litre bottles for thrust and 200 hellium ballons in the back. I don't want all the heavy fuel in my gas tank.
4. I washed my car of course and then I waxed it with 2 gal of Rain X
5. I removed the whole front end of my car as well as the tailights for free flow ventilation. I don't think i'll need headlight's or tail light's at the track....my horn and my middle finger work's just fine.
6. Right before I run I'm gonna let the air out of my rear tires...for traction you know......don't worry, I've got 20 bottles of Tire Inflator in the trunk as well.....I'm not stupid you know .
7. I've got a 20ft length of bunji cord just in case I need a tow home.
We'll I think I've got everything covered. I'm real excited. If you have any suggestion's please let me know. I'll be leaving for the track around 5:30. It's a 1 1/2 hr drive down there...don't worry I've got cruise control, so I'l take a little nap on the way so I'm refreshed and ready to go. See Ya! :D

Personally, I would suggest a diet before the race to help reduce your personal weight. I would not eat for the next few days to help. I think that 5-6 days without food or water should lower weight by about 30-40 pounds. That should lower tour time by at least .03 to .05 seconds. It's worth the effort, don't you think?

i JUST THOUGHT OF SOMETHING. If I remove my spoiler all together and just use my sunroof to keep the car low and use it as an airbrake...i can kill 2 bird's w/one stone......this is great! :D

that's what i do for the ultimate in performance, let us know how it works, don't forget to take a dump before you go, that'll help real nice, and make sure to duct tape the bucket down so you don't hurt yourself, she'll really hook up with the rear tires deflated!! ;)

Damn RIGHT! One of those 3ft AEM sticker that goes down the side at an angle... those are good for at least 15-20 hp, as long as you get the black one, it absorbs energy and transers it to the car.

YES! That is correct, young Grasshopper. Giant, Vinyl decals...but they must be either Japanese characters or promoting a performance product you do not possess. That is the key...

this thread reminds me of an old article where they had a goal to make someones car go as fast as possible without spending any money, so they took everything off of it, essentially just the frame motor and one seat with a driver, shaved off some decent time though, even though the car was still slow, can't remember what kind of car, or who wrote the article, but it was good, they tested after each step of weight reduction and kept shaving off time

i have a friend with a ford ranger with a huge hood scoop and it is about the funniest thing i have ever seen, keep in mind its a 4cyl ranger.

he got pulled over and the cop asked him if he had some big v8 under there and all he could do is laugh and respond "no its a 4cyl"

here is a pic for u all to laugh at

i am sure some of u have seen it on my cardomain site
