WHY THE HELL ARE THE GAUGES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE F'kin DASH!

hehe. I thought it would, but it doesn't. I expected it to take forever to get used to, but by the second day I had it, it just seemed normal. Nice at night, too -- having all of that lit-up stuff off to the side is a lot less distracting. It's like it's just you and the road.

Dont yell :D

I had to test drive one a few times before I got used to it. I like it now and for me personally I think it is less distracting than the conventional behind the wheel location.
I LOVE the center mounted gages...don't have to worry about positioning the steering wheel just so you can see the speedometer instead of whats the most comfortable driving position. And I think you can see more of the road in front of you.
For night driving i LOVE the center mount guages. During the day or when I want to drive around with the sounds system cranked up it SUCKS HARD. Can't see the tach with your peripheral vision too easily.
I also LOVE LOVE LOVE the center mounted gauges to me it feels moe natural.
same here, way more natural, and i'll say it again, if you have to be staring at the tach when you're driving, you need more time with the car before you're driving hard.

when i first got the car, i'd redline here and there, but since i've been used to it, i haven't redlined it in months, and i bring it plenty close

No, I prefer it.

Although, when I borrowed my friend's BMW last week, it bothered me that I wasn't able to clearly see the gauges without cranking my head drastically.
I don't mind it, but I would like to have the tach on the other side of the cluster. True, once I get used to the car, it wont matter too much, but for learning or letting someone else drive, it would be nice to be able to glance at it a BIT easier. It does rule for night driving though, don't have to turn down the lights till they look orange and old.

Im with spooner tach on other side. Took a week to get use to but now im glad they are there all in vision instead of hiding behind the wheel.
At first, it was weird to have the black void in front of me at night, but I quickly grew to like it a lot. I second the complaint about the Tach being on the wrong side, it needs to be on the left side of the cluster. And for the record, I think the '05 placement of the boost gage sucks major big time. This is why other car companies and magazine reviewers laugh at GM. Dumb shit like that.
It takes a couple days to get used to but now whenever I drive a car without it I am thrown out of whack for a while....I love not needing to look around my arm just so I can see the IP.
