So I took my 05 Redline to a mechanic I've been going to for some time now so that I can have the clutch done (new pressure plate, clutch disc, and slave cylinder). While my car was being worked on they also replaced the clutch pedal and master cylinder since those were in rough shape.

Everything ran fine for the break in period of the clutch, but as time went on I noticed that it was getting harder and harder to shift. So I took it back in and they found out that I was losing pressure somehow so they replaced the master cylinder since that went bad again.

A few more trips later my mechanic is completely stumped and I'm stumped as well so I went to a recommended transmission shop to see if they could do anything. So far they've replaced the slave cylinder, master cylinder, and hydraulic lines but the problem is still there. Anyone know what's going on?

Have him check the I rings on the clutch line itself. Ive seen them get pinched before and cause issues like this

I'm gonna assume you meant to say O rings on the clutch line. I asked the trans shop if they could check that but they already had taken the system apart again and put it back together. It still is getting air bubbles and the clutch doesn't fully disengage still.

Yes. The clutch line has an I ring on both ends going into the slave cylinder and the master.
Slave side is the common one. Also not being seated correctly.
If they did the work, its on them to fix it and make it right

I understand that it's on them to fix it and make it right but both shops and me are working together to try and figure this out since we're also running out of ideas of what could be causing the problem. I just wanted to see if there is anything that the community could suggest to help out.

I wasnt trying to come off like a dick there. Sorry about the mis understanding.

Clutch line could also not be seated correctly? Did they say if they bench bled the slave before install?

I don't believe they said anything about a bench bleed, I'll call them tomorrow and ask since they'll be closing soon. Also don't worry about the misunderstanding, haven't had my redline for a while cause of this problem so I'm a bit on edge about everything

Bleed it man you got air in it
I think me and my mechanics are on our sixth time bleeding that thing. Twice by my mechanic and 4 times by my transmission specialist. No matter how much we bleed it some air finds it's way into the system

I wonder if maybe they got a bad slave out of the box? Not unheard of

Mine was a nightmare to bleed after a clutch change. No matter what method I used I couldn't get all of the air out. I eventually brought it to a GM dealer and paid $80 to have them bleed it and the brakes. Worked perfectly ever since. Because both systems share a reservoir I would look at bleeding the brakes as well.

Alright I had a long talk with the trans shop, and they said they will give all suggestions a shot and they might have an idea on what's going on. Will keep you guys updated!

So I just got word from the trans shop. They tried everything that was suggested and it still kept losing pressure in the system. So they went and got a new clutch kit to see if there was something wrong with that. They found that the clutch disc I provided last year, which is the "OEM GM Clutch Upgrade Kit", was 3/16" too small and was overextending the slave and ruining the seal. So they're gonna swap the "OEM GM Clutch Upgrade Kit" with an actual OEM clutch.

ZZP makes an adapter plate just for that or, you can use the Rep slave because it has a longer extention aka travel point FWIW

My GMPP kit came with a SACHS slave. I ordered the LNF slave today. I will compare the two next week when it arrives and post them with pics. The install will happen on the 9th.
