Was informed today by Saturn Customer Service that the Competition Package will be tentatively available the first of next week. Well, that means I'll be going Monday the 21st to order my 2005 Redline with the Competition Package. Now, the car will be PERFECT :D

ive seen a lot of posts about this...and to burst your bubble, you can ORDER IT NOW!
mine WITH the comp. package should be built THIS week sometime..it was AVAILABLE on the 14th. i have the sales managers update sheet sitting on my desk, with the date it came available, and the gm codes for the parts it uses. and as a perk, not a lot of cars are being built (as opposed to other times of the year) so you could get one from the factory sooner then you think. im just waiting for a phone call to go and sign the papers and drive it home. :D

I am in the final details of selling my car to a private owner, and i think i will be buying the 05 redline with the comp package in the new 2005 dark gray color. The only thing i don't want is the wheels, anyone have any stockers they will trade when i get my car in show room condition? Remember i haven't ordered it yet, but i will be asap. later Jay

There is no Dark Grey for the Red Line only Silver, Blue, Red, and Black.

Any idea of what LSD will cost for part + install???

I know it's gonna put a hurtin' on me financially to get it so I'll probably just have to wait a while. :(

I just called my dealer, and he didn't know anything about it.. How am i supposed to get these parts if my parts department doesn't know, and now my dealer doesn't know. i have to bring it in next month for an oil change, so i will ask him then again, he said he might know more then. but it sucks that noone at my dealership knows anything about..

When I asked about it a few months ago, my dealer said that they would not be installing them on the 04's....the SM said that it was a liability issue.

if that is the case, it's nothing a few cases and some sticky icky won't talk someone into doing it in their spare time

that'll likely be the route i take either way, probobly much cheaper for me

thast wierd, in the dealer brochure it says available 2005 model year with an astrek next to it, and you look down and it says mid 2005. Not saying your not correct, just stating what i saw and read

If we decide on that hows it gonna work? I have the new tires and new rims on my car, and we meet in OHIO and swap them there? But then i get rid of my comp package rims and brand new tires for your "stockers" and older tires? I'm not trying to get a attitude, but ya know what i'm sayin? :)

No, wasn't really serious, but all we'd have to do is meet at a Pep Boys (my son's a manager locally, carries a little weight, plus I have a national account) - they'd put both cars in the air, pull the wheels and tires, put your new tires on my polished wheels, put my old (4,000 mile) tires on your wheels, and it's done.

Either that, or I'll stick to my original plan of pulling the wheels and tires, selling the Dunlops on ebay, having my wheels powder coated (under $200), and installing my new tires, then bolting them back on - the car can sit on jackstands in the garage for 2 days while the wheels get powder coated.
