new to exhaust i want a performance exhaust but i want a deep tone and not ricey sounding and not too too loud sometimes when cops hear loud cars they think you are speading and i for damn shure dont need cops following me any ideas on some good mufflers.

Some people here are using Magnaflows, Borla is good too, their tips really mellow out the sound, but they're expensive. Flowmaster is always a good choice. I hear from the people that have changed over that the resonator is at LEAST as important as the muffler to get that good sound.

Buy a V-8 car, and avoid doing exhaust on a 4-banger, lol

I like the sound like the WRX STI they are deep throated. Thats what I like if my 2 cents count

Easy on the run on sentances chief!
Do a search and you will find a few different setups on the RL, hell even ask a few of the guys, i'm sure they are more than willing to send you a clip. Like others have said you have a 4cyl that revs relatively high compared to good ol pushrod v8's and it is also forced induction. You may have to play around with a few different mufflers and resonators to get the sound you want. Good luck with that Jay

IF you are worried about being too loud, then just make sure that you get a longer muffler (18" as opposed to 14"). I have a 14" magnaflow and that thing SCREAMS at people if you get on the gas to pass them.

I've compared the Borla w/ the Magnaflow. My magnaflow is quite a bit louder and raspier than the borla.

I like the sound of the mflow and have gotten compliments on how my exhaust sounds, but it is a little obnoxious.

As said above, the resonator is important as well. I still have the stock one on mine. I'm waiting for a catback to come out.
