Well after fighting with saturn, i finally got the reflash done. my car starts SO much better now. i went to start it this morning after a cold night, and usually it starts up to about 1500rpm and then sits about about 1100rpm when cold. But when i started it today, it quickly jumped to 2000rpm and came back down slowly. I also notice when i streched 2nd gear out from about 30mph, there was no big kick in boost at 4000rpm anymore; it just kept pulling. Does anyone know if the reflash actually gains my horsepower?

I don't think its more horse power I think it just smooths it out ALOT more. Which is a good thing would be nice if it hadded some HP though :) funny thing with mine i ust got it done and it threw an SES after I drove it a little, the code you as Why it said it was running to lean. I had autozone clear it and if it pops up again then I'm takin it back to them and sayin WTF if not then its good to go.

You guys are approaching this all the wrong way. Asking your dealer for it to get done just because isn't going to get you anywhere. You know the symptoms for the TSB, so just play dumb and tell them about what the car is doing. If they say they don't know complain and say that answer is rediculous.

Some how you might be able to tell them you heard from a buddy who had the same problem, that his dealer corrected due to a TSB that is out on it. Problem fixed. Also keep bringing it in with the same problem, bitch to corporate about it enough and it'll get done. Seems like you guys don't even need this upgrade or have to much faith in the dealership wasting it's time and doing it without a problem just to be nice...

I didn't have to fight I said starting cold takes a while and that my second gear was sluggish. They looked and on my sheet I got back it says can't duplicate the cold start problem may be related to line two. Line two states and I quote Verified sluggishness, found incorrect PCM calibration, Recalibrated PCM. So now she runs great. BUT I don't know if anyone else has had this problem yet but my SES light came on about 2 hours after I got it done. Autozone hooked it up and said it was running lean I asked them to clear it and that if it happens again I'll go to saturn. Well no lie it comes back on today I took it right to saturn and what do you know it threw the same code. The guy clears it says if it comes back on don't worry about it breakin down but call when were open and we'll make an appointment. He said I might need a new O2 sensor. Funny part he is lookin and I hear him read off "Car was doing over a 100 MPH about 5min ago" I just pretended I didn't hear him haha. What happen was a White SC2 with an exhaust was in front of me in left lane and I was in the right so I drove by so he can see the saturn logo on the back so we started going but there was traffic. He was first in line on the left lane at a light and I was a few back on right it went green I heard him gun it so I get in the left lane pull up back in to the right lane after I passed the few cars and I see him just kinda waiting soon as he noticed me again in the rear he gunned it and moved right lane I stayed left and flew by I slowed down and he caught up and went by with a smile and thumbs up. I got back in the right lane to get off and he tried to slow down I guess he wanted to talk but it was too late I gave him a thumbs up out my window and he did the same. Was pretty fun.

I am absolutely exhausted after struggling through this post, but from the gist of it I can tell it sounded like a good story. :D

well the first time i went there, i told them my problems (which are real) which are cold starts. i took it there, and told them what was going on, and i told them how i read online that there was some sort of reflash (playing dumb) that fixes this. he was like yeah well maybe...so after saturn having my car for 2hrs, they came to me and said they wanted to keep my car over night to look it over further cause they couldnt find anything. well i told them no, because i needed my car the next day. so when i finally took it back, i told htem my situation, and just told them that they were going to do the reflash to my car (lie, they never said that) so in about 25-30mins i was outa there with a reflashed ecu :D

Well my dealership had to replace my ecu to upgrade mine. It would not take the upgrade. So 4 days at the dealership and I finally have it. Hopefully it has fixed that starting problem other wise I get a new car....

Yeah, my dealership wanted to keep my car overnight to see the "cold start" problems first hand the next morning. Of course, my car doesn't have any problems starting but I want this reflash everyone has been raving about on here.

I said that it's my only car and I couldn't leave it.

Luckily, my buddy Austin has a brother who is a tech at another local dealership. He's gonna get me the hook up.

i've noticed it starting better too after driving around and making a quick stop then starting again (that's where i had my hesitation on start)

also, there is definitely no more surge at 4000rpms like there was, a nice smooth pull all the way across, and to be honest, seems like she launches better too!?!

i have my airbox removed, and was throwing system too rich codes, and they rode around with the tech-II after they did the update, and said that it leaned it out nicely, and i've definitely noticed a better pull at WOT. can't say that there's a horsepower gain for you, but i'm sure i do as i was running rich and now it's where it should be, not any codes since i got my car back anyways.

Which Saturn dealership did you take it to?
