Fogs?

Hello.
I'm new to the boards and just picked up my new RL a few days ago. Oh and BTW I'm in Toronto and based on the posts that I've seen I might be the only one.

Has anyone tried putting fogs on their RL. There's an obvious spot for it but I'm not if or how it would be done.

Anyone had success with this?

I'm located in Stoney Creek, but I own a regular ION. A sedan at that.

Does anyone know how much that's gonna cost? I have been trying to figure out how to get some put on. I've always had fogs...
I personally don't like fog lights but thats just me :)

I would like to know also. I have been saying for over 2 weeks I am going to the dealership and ask but haven't made it yet.
I'll call the dealership at lunch here, if no one else does first, and I'll see how much they are and when they'll be available. They should drop right into the spot where the 'air intakes' are on the driver's and passenger's side of the car. I wouldn't be suprised to find that there's a wiring harness in place for them already. I hate aftermarket fog lights, I prefer when the are built for the car, my 2001 SC2 had some of the nicest molded-in fog lights that I've personally ever seen on a car. I loved those. I'd rather make those vents functional to semi-functional for some damn thing.

Most companies have the harness installed just to have that specific car model cheaper to make. My F-150 is the same way, had the harness and everything there just needed the lights and brackets.
I asked my dealership parts guy yesterday on this. He says he still dont have numbers to be able to seel them individually. I will be in again this week getting the position sensor and ecm upgrade TSB's done and will ask again.
They DO have numbers on the RL comp foglights.

Here it is:
10335108

They will cost $106.38 EACH!!!! (yes folks, multiply that by 2)

That does not include the new plastic piece behind the fascia that you will need to house them. They currently do not have a part number for that piece oddly enough.

That's a bit steep just for fogs IMHO.
To be honest, thats about what I expected them to cost from the dealer. Not that I want to spend 200+ on foglights, but I want something that fits and looks right. Until someone comes out with an alternative, thats my only option.
Damn that is a LOT for foglights, shows that the comp package might just be a good buy, OR that they are some overprice motherfuc*ers.

Was told by dealers service dept. to expect near $4oo.oo (Installed) for them here in Olympia, Wa. Are the Redlines pre-wired for the fog/driving lights?

Good question. Somehow, I highly doubt that they are pre-wired. The comp ed. foglights kind of look like an afterthought to me.
Hmm, for an extra $200 over the price of the lights, it sounds like they must have to do alot more than plug 'em in and screw 'em down. Maybe not though, dealerships are always expensive as hell. I would think the harness would be there though, since the Ions and the QuadCoupes all have foglight options on 'em. Is it a different harness in the Redline? You would think not, but that don't mean shit...

I am leaving in about 5 minutes to go pick up my car. Going to inquire on price on the part number above and also ask the service people about the pre-wiring. will let ya know what I find out.
what did you find out? sucks to end a thread like this one ended.
the wires are not there. The redline was not wired for it. The dealer isntalled comes to 500+ to have the switches wires the lamps and all the goodies done to dealer spec.
I would rather just buy the fogs from the dealer and get them put in myself, by someone who would rather have me come back than rip me off once.
I lost the other thread but they are 91.71 a piece now, and I think its fishy that the Left and Right side are the same number. Can't find out today though as it is a Holiday for GM employees.
