Ok i keep seeing other RL without the front plate and i dont want mine anymore, never wanted it. but i need some ideas on a cheap way to get rid of it with out having 2 ugly holes in my front bumper.

i know i have seen pics of people who have put 2 led's in there and i am looking for something a little better but at this point i think i am just fed up with the dam plate and am willing to do anything so if someone can provide some insight on what to do please help.

and any pics of this done would be great because i can not seem to find any

Is your car registered in NY?? Cause if so, there really isn't anywhere else to mount the front plate. I mean you could put it in your front window but when you come back to NY you will get harassed about that. Just my $.02
Get like a red bar to go across between the 2 holes. Like a Redline______
my 2 1/2 cents
i have driven around my cava for like a year b4 they said anything to me i will just use the military reason i am sure i can get out of it
I have the 2 holes. BUT i get pulled over every 2 weeks or so and get a fix it ticket. I have the plate and the bracket in the trunk. I just put it on and go straight to the police station to get it signed off.
In TX, you have to have front plates but ny car did no come equipped to hold one. It has the two small indentions where you are supposed to drill the holes to mount one, but I refuse to put one on.

I've been pulled over 3 times in it and not once did any of the officers say anything about it. I've heard that DPS officers will ticket you for it because they use your front plate to bounce the laser off of to clock your speed. Obviously the city cops don't really care though.
Mine got taken off in an accident on my old SC2, never got bothered by it once, and it's requried here in Chicago. Really sux that my Redline has the damn front plate holes drilled with the dealer plate frame, don't even have a plate to put in there. Still got the dealer insert too, looks like I have a Saturn billboard on the front on my car. No worries though, the chrome-like trim adds at least 2hp and the plate acts as an air splitter, quarter-mile times are amazing with these mods.

unknownsuperhero can i get a pic i wanna see how noticable these holes are, and did u just drill out the rivits
well tomorrow i am gonna drill the rivits out and take off the dam front plate i keep looking at it and im like 2 little holes will look a lot better than a dam huge plate and i can figure out what to do with it later
Why not take it to a dealer in GA and see if they can recommend someone to fill it in? I am not sure if it will work without replacing the bumper but it's worth a shot.
yea this is what i am thinking i want to find someone who can fill in the holes and paint it to match

never really thought about asking the dealer

any guesses on cost to do that
Depends on what they do, if they simply fill in the holes and paint to match it shouldn't be too expensive. Maybe like $100-200, but that's just a guess.
ouch i hate that paint is that much money but i think i want to get it done just not yet prob just keep the plate on for now or find something to put in the holes
for a cheap temporary fix just use a plug type retainer and paint them to match and push them in. you'll see the circle outline but it's still better then the two holes.
how much would one of those cost painted to match tho

SUre I can take a pic, It is not very noticable unless you look for it. My car is black though on any other color it would be noticible. I had the snap rivets i mine for some reason. Just the plastic discs that you push that little pin into. Same stuff used to hold our inner fenders in, but on my wifes QC they used the actual metal rivets. Weird but as soon as i get off of duty and head home I will snap a pic.
thanks that would be great, i have the metal rivits and i think that when they put them in it did something to the paint because its cracked near the holes so i need to get something that is like about 1/4 inch larger than the holes to cover the cracks and the hole one of those snap rivits would be great i just can not find any in the color of the car and i do not want black i am still looking for something to cover it, i am still looking for ideas that would be cheaper than painting
Sorry for being a little off tompic but navy, do you have the center armrest with the little cubby, the one out of the quad coupe, anyway, i just got one and when i installed it i noticed that it is leaning toward my drivers seat, like touching it and there is about an inch from the passenger seat, is that normal, there are no gaps around it so it might be the actual design, just wanted to see if it was the same.
not sorry man i dont have the armrest

I know Blu_Redline has one (from the recent "Arm Rest" thread), so he can tell you for sure if you PM him. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be tilted, though -- the ones I saw in RLs at the dealer's all seemed perfectly vertical from what little attention I paid to them.
