Ok guys, I've been to an 1/8th mile track once and a 1/4 mile track both within the last three months.

My best three times at the 1/8th mile were:

Time 60 speed
9.36 2.326 79.6
9.406 2.317 78.91
9.531 2.311 78.65

My best three for the 1/4

Time 60 speed
14.036 2.3 103.75
14.053 2.323 102.87
14.109 2.341 102.36

All of these were launching from idle, without spinning my tires before runs.

I'm going again this Saturday and really want to break 13's. Weather is supposed to be around 50 degrees with clear skies. If it was 13.999 I'd still be happy (but obviously want lower if possible :)).

Mods are in my sig, I've added the ttr mounts since the other runs though. My tune has me around 17 degrees of advance up top, I have HP tuners and plan on playing with boost in first gear and maybe adding some race gas and adding timing.

My question is I feel 13's are within reach, has anyone else gotten there with similar mods? I haven't played with tire pressure before and want to try lowering psi in my fronts and raising in the rear, any suggestions on where I should set them? I feel this will let me cut down my 60' times some and maybe launch from 1.5/2k or more. Also I've considered getting a bag of ice or two to put on the supercharger in between runs, although my IAT 2 temps stayed around 140 after a couple of runs in 60 degree weather.

Any suggestions or tips?

Thanks

honestly its all getting the feeling. its hard to say what you need to do, just know that your car has the right tools to get it. So just do it.

Thanks man, I'm hoping I can find it Saturday...

From your psi it looks like you're probably a stage II? What were your mods/tires with that 13.6 run?

mods were at that time:
stage II, 2.9", K&N CAI, CX Racing HE, Dual pass endplate, solid mounts. Also lowered tire pressure up front to 28psi and i cut 1st gear boost to 75 percent. but besides that it was still the stage tune.

I think you should be able to do it unless your track elevation is messing you up.

i did it with just stage 2 and BFG street tires, so i think you will hit it, keep trying different launches till you find the one that works.

^^^I was thinking the same thing. Make this pig stick to asphalt and it should make a sub 14 run if you know what you're doing. Me=still learning how to.

How do you figure an expensive mod? Even KDW2's aren't much more expensive than a good street or autoX type tire as replacements for our Lops. Hell you only need two of them and a spare pair of rims. They don't even need to be beautiful, just functional. You could get all you need for less than the cost of a complete stage 2 kit and tune(if you paid for all of it). Once you got this clutch figured out, you won't have to sweat broken axles either.

You've got high 13 second trap speeds, so I say work on the launch.

Instead of launching from idle (more potential to bog or spin), hold it around 1800 RPMs and do a sort of knee-jerk/slip until the clutch is fully engaged and then romp on it, pedal to the floor.

If you can hit a 2.2 60' you're in the 13s easy.
