Car changes since last time at track: front and rear poly mounts, boost gauge/ladder tach, wideband.

I lowered my tire pressure to 22 psi, which I felt a difference, but my quickest run had a 60' that was worse than my best run from the last time I was at the track...

Last time best run (11/8/08) This time (1/31/09)

60' 2.300________________________ 2.322

330' 6.187_________________________6.095

1/8th 9.262________________________9.123
1/8th mph 80.43________________________81.4

1/4 14.036_______________________13.879
1/4 mph 103.75_______________________103.46

64 degrees, 40% hum.___________48 degrees, 30% Hum.

Same tune, and no race gas this time. (I get a little kr as my IAT's get higher so that's why I added it last time). I think the lowered tire pressure didn't help at all that run as far as my launch was concerned (first run, still getting the rust off), but I believe it kept me from spinning at higher rpm's and the poly mounts definitely killed any wheel hop. I added the 300' time because there is a clear difference in how power was applied higher in first and into second. All day I was able to ride 1st gear wot at higher rpm's and had never been able to do that before (keep in mind 1st gear boost is limited).

Honestly my times were very inconsistent, and so were everyone else. We all agreed the track was too cold, the only reason I think my best run was that good was because A. My IAT 2's were very cool and B. I was the first car to run on the track with fresh vht.

My second best run of the day was much later and only a 13.9, but it was again right after they sprayed more vht.

you need to get that 300' mark a lil lower. But over all nicely done.

congrats man! finally got your 13's! What's your new goal?
Thanks guys!

A lower 1/4 time will follow suit, but my new goal is to get a good run with a 60' of 2.25 or less. I may be going back this weekend.

Figured I'd give an update for anyone who is interested in drag racing or is having trouble breaking into 13's like I did.

I've been back to the track a decent number of times since this thread was started (breaking into 13's on a few occasions) but since haven't beaten my personal best of 13.879 @ 103.46. Over the past year I haven't gone nearly as much as I used to because of wrapping up school, new interest in racing with turning involved, etc.

I went back last night just running gas and on some pretty worn neogens (running ~25 psi), mostly for the purpose of tuning. The only changes I can think of to the car since my best run are a 2.7 pulley instead of 2.8 and an over the axle/ magnaflow muffler exhaust.

I got what I'm pretty sure is my best 60' ever, a 2.203. The track was hooking great the first 60' but every time I got a good launch I'd start spinning near the top of first bad, even with limiting boost to ~60%. Then I'd spin the bottom of second more than usual. The general consensus with other drivers was that the later portion of the track just wasn't prepped as well as it should have been.

Also, I'm pretty sure I got my highest traps ever running gas with my best hitting 104.87 mph.

PB(1/31/09)________Last night, both 13's runs(5/7/11)

60' 2.322_______________2.203___2.242
330' 6.095_______________6.127___6.151

1/8th 9.123______________9.185___9.198
MPH 81.4_______________ 81.47___81.79

1/4 13.879_____________ 13.937__13.944
MPH 103.46_____________ 104.74__104.87
48 degrees, 30% Hum. 75 degrees, 35% Hum.

Overall I think my driver mod has improved quite a bit, but otherwise the 2.7 DEFINITELY helped me out torque wise to get off the line quicker than the 2.8. I'm glad to see my fairly minor mods adding 1 or 2 MPH to my trap. The spinning definitely killed my 330' times and ultimately my 1/4 times.

Maybe this fall I'll get some DR's and we'll see a "Help NCStateRedline get into 12's" thread:shrug03:

On a side note, there were some AWESOME cars at The Rock yesterday... a couple CTS-V's, a Jeep srt-8 running mid-low 10's @ ~135 and a street driven Supra (twin turbo,~27 lb's of boost, spraying off the line to help spool) running 9.8 @ 130+

I should really hit the track one of these weekends. It won't hurt to try as long as I don't break anything.
I have a truck and know where to get a trailer. Feel free to let her rip all out on the track.

i am wondering if you are still running e85 right now? or just pump gas/
Just gas, there is only a 15% price spread between e85 and gas in NC right now so running e-85 would cost more than premium.

I'd guess my current set up to make around 250-260 hp and 240ish torque
