Going to the track tonight!!!!

I'm heading to Denton Dragway tonight with a couple of forumites tonight.

It's an 1/8th mile track. I'd like to go to a 1/4 mi. one but the nearest one is an hour and a half drive.

I'll let you guys know some times tomorrow. I've never been to a track to race so wish me luck. I know that the launch will probably cause me to lose quite a few races at first. Hopefully, I get the hang of it pretty quickly.

Have fun, its nerve wrecking at first but when u get the hang of it its totally fun. Just remember..go before its green..or u are allready too late

I plan to go next weekend if weather is good, even tho i dont have any more mods since last time.

Don't even worry about your reaction times. You're not bracket racing so it doesn't matter really. The ET clock doesn't start moving until you go. Also don't worry about winning or losing, just concentrate on driving.

He was talking about winning races so thats why i said dont wait til its green or else if someones got a faster car u have no hope if they get .5 on ya when u first start off!!

Well, I didn't get to go. My son had one of his crowns come off this evening and I ended up being at the Dentist office getting the run around for about 4 hours!!!!

After A LOT of bitching, I got his crown replaced for free but got home about 8:30 pm and was dead tired.

Oh well, another day I guess.

ive been to the track once and only had one race (due to weather) and i launched before the green came on and thought i did a dq. but i didnt! so when exactly do you launch?!

Well Jason I made it out there with Austin. I got two runs in. The first run was my first ever in this car. I got up to the line and ended up overrevving at the last light. Took off with a lot of whell hop. My RT was good by my ET was hosed because I missed a shift. Guess I was just nervous.

My second run was so much better. My RT was a little slower but I ended up with a 9.83 @ 75 mph. So overall I was happy for my first time out.

U dont own a chevy!!! lol. I like Trans Ams. I have been looking at them, they are nice i admit and hella fast but i am a mustang guy afterall. Cant do it! But i will get a RL.

I just wish I could have made it out there but I got home later than expected and was dead tired. Austin said next time we need to meet up at Kennedale.

Yeah, yeah... I used to own a 96 Camaro Z28... On March 8th I traded it for a 1999 Trans Am... I got $9000 for my Camaro(it had a swapped LS1) and paid $13,000 for my car... I ended up putting $9500 down on my car and plan on paying off the rest next spring... Right now I'm leaning toward getting a Redline or SS Cobalt(to be my daily driver) when I do pay it off and start building the LS1...

It sure would suck to have a car trap 15mph higher stock than your modded mustang ;P

I really dont have any big mods besides the x-pipe and Cams. Which are factory spec ford cams from the 99-04 GT's. Cant beat 50 bucks for some slightly used 02 cams and about 20 horses.
