I'm a tad upset as I'm writing this so if I'm not making any sense just tell me. But the reason for the post is to get any advice for a door scratch. Not just the paint....the damn plastic too. I went to work as usual this morning and at lunch time my buddy comes in and says I have a blemish on my driver's door. I go out after work (6 hours later) and see this black streak about 5 inches long and maybe not quite 1/16 inch wide and I think, that'll buff right out. WRONG. It's into the damn plastic about as deep as it is wide and I know the insurance won't fix it without me paying the $500 deductable so screw that but I would appreciate if anybody had any tips on how to fix this problem of mine. Thanks in advance.

Color matched Wax

Ggo get a small bottle of touch up paint. Don't over do the paint though. And don't fill the scratch entirely. Sand it lightly with a damp crocus cloth, and then get a color matched wax. As well as a wax stick, (looks like a lip stick can or chapstick) in the same color. Turtle wax makes a good variety. That should cover it up. It will still be there but only you will know it.

Just a suggestion. It will work, but I have done it many times so I am fairly good at it now. You may just want to go to a body shop and see what they can do.
