just got off the phone with a friend from intrax, they will be replacing progress as the oem aftermarket available spring for the redline. they currently say yes the ion springs will fit the redline but as the same with everyone will not lower the car as much as the stock ion. 1.7 stock ion comapred to 1.0-1.2 on the redline. they will be releasing the actual redline springs soon they will lower the car a full 1.5 inches lower than it already is. they are actually making these for gm at your local dealer!!! and these will be available at any saturn dealer and will retain factory warranty!! for those that want to slam the car they are doing a set of 3" drop springs also, these will require a camber kit to bring the the wheels back in line.
and to all who question the degree of angle from either of the drops they already cleared this with gm and gm said there is no problem with either the 1.5 or 3" drop as far as that goes!!! this is really good news and intrax makes a great spring. o offense but in qulaity much better than sprint. the steel that sprint uses is similar to b+g, goldline, and all the other lower end kits out there. intrax uses the same steel as eibach and h&r does much higher quality. i will be waiting myself.

Received a reply from Intrax today (Jan.27, 2006):

Yes it uses the same spring as the regular ION, we actually developed it on the Redline originally with Saturn and they use it on their show cars. It is part number 70.1.015 and lowers the redline about 1.4-1.5” front and rear.

So Z, you are saying that Intrax makes better springs than B&G??

I was about to order a set of B&G's in the next 2 weeks, but if the above is correct I may wait! Looks like I may be waiting with you, keep us updated on this, please!

I didn't know that B+G were considered lower end springs. I actually heard a lot of people that compare them to eibach's. I had them on my old ION and I loved them. Who knows...but that is good news, and I will be waiting to put those on my Redline...

I was just reading about the Intrax springs and they say that their springs ride like the oem one's...i don't know about you but i want springs that are a little stiffer than the oem springs...i heard that b+g's are stiffer than stock and they lower about 1.5.

Forgive my doubt, but this fits right in with all the other hear say and "soon to be released parts". I should be able to rebuild my Red Line from the ground up (exaggeration) if all the "soon to be released parts" or "parts in r & d come out".

I'm not trying to bash, I hope you are right, I really hope you are right, but driving an 04 model with no "specific" springs out for it could only leave my doubt outwieghing my excitement.

So many people have had vibration problems. 3" drop, really?

When are they to be released? Soon right, very soon even?

Man I'm in an ass of a mood today, sorry Z, please be right.
