aftermarket parts for our cars are coming very slow..im hoping by before 2006 we will have a decent amount of parts to choose from...my question is this..

how much horsepower and torque do you think we will get with:

cold air intake, headers, cat back, aftermarket ehxaust, psi-fi boost upgrade, and twin charger?

how much horsepower for each part and everything together, the people that have the CAI and aftermarket exahust please tell your true gains...

with all those parts including the twin charger, what kind of 1/4 mile times will we be running..with only the CAI, only headers, etc...???

Hopefully we'll get enough people doing a baseline test on the RL so we can determine what the TRUE horsepower rating is on these things. I'm thinking the aftermarket will benefit from GM's underrated HP ratings on the RL but it would be nice to know exactly how much HP the aftermarket parts are worth. I remember getting a POS vortech (not the supercharger but a throttle body spacer) that was supposed to increase horsepower by atleast 10 HP, it was a piece of junk. The only thing it did was make it sound like I had a vacuum leak on the intake or that I had some sort of cheap forced induction on my Chevy 5.3L I'm glad we'll have a decent resource here to find out which aftermarket parts work and which ones are a waste of money and which ones take too long for the supplier to build (sorry I had to :D)

I think realisticaly with a header we will gain about 10-15hp and 10lbs of torque.

CAI its already been proven to be about 13-14hp and 10lbs of torque.

Cat-back exhaust I would say about 5hp to 12-13hp depending on size of the piping + muffler combo.

PSI-FI 18psi boost upgrade, I would say 20-30hp

Test pipe - 3-4hp - 3-4lbs of torque

Twincharging - ??? I dont know, depends on how much boost the turbocharger will be boosting. There is a rule of thumb 1psi turbo boost equals out to be about 10hp to the flywheel. Wheel hp about 6hp-7hp.

So let's say on the conservative side we boost 5psi. We are talking a realistic 30hp.

So conservative numbers about 266whp w/ the following mod's. Damn that really doesnt sound like much for that amount of money.

Also put into factor that when you get the psi-fi boost upgrade, you're also getting a piggyback ecu that is TUNED for the car.

Oh yeah, the ECU. Expect higher numbers.

If you got all these performance mods done, wouldn't they kind of work together with each other to help more of a gain. What I'm saying is that they should all help the engine work more efficiently (for more power at least) to where you'll see more of a gain than just adding each individual component.
In other words again, if you were to put on the headers alone, you'd be seeing about 10-15 hp. If you put on a catback without the headers, you'd be seeing about 12-13 hp. If you put both the headers and catback on, wouldn't you expect to see more than the 22-28hp gain?

One other thing, with twin-charging, isn't there a limit to how much combined boost you can add to the engine before it hurts the power and the engine (too much boost..)? If there is, what is this limit?

i'm hoping all the mods you listed well put us real close to 300hp and that is without the twin charging
