4800 when my service department did the cps recall they forgot to reset the timing which caused the ecu to stop working so i have a new one in the car. also about 2 weeks ago the coolant reservoir seal went and sent coolant everywhere. thats it so far i'm sure i'll break something when i buy psi-fi's kit

About 5300... cam shaft sensor seal replaced right around 3000 (no leak, got the letter, got it fixed)... fixed improperly wired intercooler water pump at about 4700 miles (no real issues experienced... just hate to have something not right from the manufacturer).

I just got my car back because for some reason when i hit the locks it blew the fuse for the computer. It was really weird. Then I get an SES light because of something in the fuel regulator when the computer went out but it still ran just fine. It was about a 2 hour fix but I only have 3800 miles. I've also had a interior plastic pillar that was warped and a tear in my steering wheel.

13,000+ no problems what so ever. It's nice having a Wednesday built car ;) My other car ('01 SC2) was rock solid and still is, I hope my Redline is trouble free like it. If it keeps up it will be...

My 04 cavalier was definitely a friday car. The Ignition module and cat were replaced before it hit 3000 miles. Its gotta be the same situation with my redline

2000 miles, had my Cam Shaft Pos Sensor go at about 1200.
Also got an ECU flash at that point.

I am waiting for saturn to recall our diff and tell us all they forgot to put in the LSD. Prolly not going to happen :)

just broke into the 12000 mile range. intercooler water pump wired improperly, oil leaked because of the cps, fixed then fixed again with the recall, rotor gouging (i assume it's cheap steel GM uses), bumper scratching, car died when clutch depressed after hard freeway driving, hadn't happened since the PCM update (no erratic RPM bounce either).

otherwise it's been good, nothing above was really serious except the oil leaking (4 quarts) and the water pump. i'll be getting upgraded rotors at some point, but for now they'll work even if they squeak.

distance & problems

I have about 5000 miles on my Redline and have had no problems other than replacing the windshield wipers in the winter.

Wow, I am suprised that these cars are having so many problems with so few miles.

I guess it's because they are :

A) First year

B) GM (Not the best but they are better than this!)

C) Performance vehicles.

I think it's mostly A and C. My dad had a GM wagon that did 175,000 miles with very few problems but he takes care of his car and drives like grandpa. As such, every car we've had has been reliable.

These cars shouldn't have so many niggles with so few miles. How are the 2005s holding up? Are they mostly trouble free?
