I know our cars have a air-water intercooler on the intake, so im guessing there is also a radiator infront of the engine coolant radiator right?? but what i really want to know is there a coolant tank for the air-water for possibly putting in ice for draging and dyno pulls?

The intercooler contains 2 quarts of coolant. There is no radiator for it on the front of the car. What you'd normally see on the front of some turbo cars (FMIC or Front-Mount Intercooler) is really an air-to-air intercooler.

but can you access this container? and the coolant only goes from the intercooler to the container and back seems like there is nothing to keep the water from just getting warmer.

There is a filler neck near the intake portion of the supercharger, on the right side of the motor. Also, if you think about it, the supercharger isn't heating air all the time. At idle and during low-boost operation, the air passing through the intercooler is relatively cool, compared to high-boost. It cools itself, basically.

well i was just wondering for when i was draggin i can just drain out the coolant and replace with ice water for colder intake temps. then in the winter replace the coolant.

there is a unit in between the radiator and the ac condensor unit. the unit looks like a tiny intecooler and it does allow air to cool the unit independently. yes you can drain and fill with ice water but heat tranfer from the car sitting will heat the water quite fast. So point of the story yes it will work but only for minutes at best.

Is there really? I stand corrected.

just open the hood and take a look. Its in there. You can see the lines from the motor to the front and so on.

you can remove it from where it is and remote mount it you most likely could. If you were to remote mount it you need to protect it becuase its super fragile. I thought of making an aluminum tank and putting it where all the extra room is under the hood and doing that exact trick. Im sure with quick connects you can just make a piggy back track only setup real easy. If I get a better welder so I can do aluminum Ill make it for all to buy.

I wish I had access to my Red Line right now to check this out for I had always though the intercooler runs it's coolant to the large yet skinny radiator infront of the radiator for the engine. I guess I am going to have to check this out when I get back from vacation.
