What are these called ... lower door seals? I have one on the lower inside edge of the drivers side door, nothing on the passenger side. I did not see any mention of this seal at the various GM parts sites. Anyone know where I can get the passenger side?

Update - I called a GM dealer its an auxiliary door seal - it's $23.00 so I ordered one. They are phasing out these parts which comes as no surprise. There are still some in inventory but they are not making more.

What year is your car? I have never seen those seals before. Maybe it was something on the later models used to divert water from behind the door drainage

It's a 2006. My kid has a 2007 Ion Coupe and it does not seem to have the seals on either door.

My 04 doesn't either, I wonder what benefit they give, water or sound? This interests me, how do they attach?

I was guessing it was for wind noise. I'm not sure they are really needed. I ordered one so I will see how it attaches once I get the part.
