to those of you that have lowered yours already,
does it affect or void your vehicle warranty?

and for that matter, do you even know or care?

Only voids the warranty if something goes wrong with them or they are the cause of braking parts. Thats what the service manager in Saturn of St.Paul told me. That was the first thing I asked when I picked my car up after I bought it

Does anyone know if you need to do any alignment work done after lowering the car. I have to wonder if after lowering the car if there is anything that will wear any differently, such as tires or suspension parts. Maybe dumb questions but I am curious because I have never lowered a car before.

Getting an alignment is a must after any major suspension work. Lowering a vehicle changes all the geometry, and without an alignment, you can certainly expect abnormal/excessive tire wear.
