just got a 2004 ion redline last week. i heard that the boost was limited for so many miles. is this true? hooked up aftermarket boost/vacuum gauge and max boost is 13-14 psi.

yeah i have heard that too...everything from 1000-2400 mile break in on it...but I called Saturn motor sports and they said it should come from the factory running 12 psi....Are u saying ur boost gauge is reading 13-14 psi.

the gauge reads around 13 give or take. could be 12psi, the gauge is a 2 1/16" auto meter 30 in.Hg./30psi. vacuum/boost. i have 600 miles on the redline now, 300 miles when i put the gauge in.

I think they run between 12 to 12.5 psi.

Hey Metalhead....I'm in Fort Worth too. I live out by the Motor Speedway. Another member on here, Cole, is from Arlington. We oughta all hang out and go cruise the RL's around Fort W. :D

The idea that the computer automatically limits itself by mileage is kinda silly. I've never heard of any car that forces its own break-in period.

12-13 psi sounds about right, regardless of mileage.
