Was there a blue redline from this board at Beaver Springs Dragway on 5-13-05??? I saw him pull in, but he didn't race. It looked like he had a different exhaust on it.

I finally got to run the car at the track Friday night. Fully stock with just a hair over 3K miles. Here are my runs............

1st run I was asleep at the tree, but the rest of the run was alright. I launched from idle.
R/T... .806
60'... 2.356
330'... 6.233
660'... 9.367
mph... 79
1000'. 12.030
1/4... 14.274
mph... 100.00

Second run I launched from around 1200 rpm. and had a good run going till I missed third.
R/T... .604
60'... 2.248
330'... 6.074
660'... 9.660
mph... 69.97
1000'. 12.565
1/4... 14.919
mph... 97.17

Third run I launched from Idle again, and had a pretty strong run.
R/T... .457
60'... 2.340
330'.. 6.164
660'.. 9.331
mph... 78.96
1000'. 11.986
1/4... 14.242
mph... 101.58

My fourth run, I spun like crazy in first and about 1/4 to 1/2 of second.
R/T... .482
60'... 2.412
330'.. 6.317
660'.. 9.487
mph... 78.32
1000'. 12.163
1/4... 14.414
mph... 99.75

This was the bracket racing. I got on the brakes HARD before I crossed the line, or this would have been a very nice run. It was my lowest E.T. of the night and again, I was on the brakes HARD. I was trying not to break out, but I did anyway.

Dial... 14.20
R/T... .401
60'... 2.280
330'.. 6.099
660'.. 9.233
mph... 78.88
1000'. 11.899
1/4... 14.144
mph... 99.98

Like I said, I was on the brakes pretty hard. That should have been about a 14.1 to a 14.0XX @ 102 - 103............ But shoulda, woulda, coulda, but I didn't. ;)

I used to tap 100's to 105's all day long in my SRT4, now with my redline I can barley manage to get 94's to 95's if I'm lucky...

yeah but the Redline aftermarket is in its infancy, that will change along with those trap speeds! :D

The only thing I had on my SRT4 was an intake, same for my redline... its a darn good thing I got such a good price on the redline, plus insurance is quite a bit cheaper too.

For like 16K you can't beat it. I'll take a redline and the extra five grand over a Neon SRT-4 any day.

I like to differ, i'll take 434whp/439wtq anyday in the SRT-4 :)

don't get me wrong the redline is cool and so is the cobalt, but seeing the engine build up plans for 400+whp...doesn't seem to promising on those internals.

SRT-4 :bolt ons and get 400-550whp on stock internals.

We will have to see about the Ecotec since it's early in the game for the boosted motors.

you trapped 105mph simply with a air intake?

doubtful.

Its 500hp or nothing for me!

What is bracket racing? And what is 'breaking out'?

Sorry for the retarded question... :)

ok, here is a simple explaination of it.

I dialed a 14.2. That means that it will take me 14.2 seconds to make it from the start to the finish.
I line up against a guy that dials a 16.2. That means that it will take him 16.2 seconds to make it from the start to the finish.

To make the race even they start the slow guy 2 seconds early. So I have to wait at the tree for two seconds before my lights go off.

The point is that we will cross the finish line at the same time. Bracket racing isn't about who has the fastest car. It is about who can get down he track in the amount of time that they say they can. It is a poor mans drag racing, because not everybody has enough money to make there car fast enough to go heads-up racing. So, if I say that I will run a 14.2 than my objective is to run a 14.2, not quicker and not slower but that specific time. If I run under my time, as in run a 14.1 or quicker than I broke out. And I lose unless the other person brakes out by more.

Didn't they used to do that back in the day, to make 'classes'? If you ran too fast, you had to move up to the next class? Or is that something that they still do, and is different?

But dont forget, it's still all about who crosses the finish line first (and doesnt break out).I love to watch quicker cars with "high dial-ins" lose the race with brake lights a glaring by to slower car that was dialed-in "on the nose" and wins under full power. :D
