On Tuesday night my wife was driving back to work after her lunch break. It had been raining and drizzling here for 3 days. She took a curve, doing 30, and and the vehicle began to hydroplane off the road. This normally would not be a big problem for an SUV but unfortunately, on the side of the road she drifted off of was a big drainagle ditch made with lare rocks. The VUE hit the ditch and proceeded to roll over twice. She said she could not get either of the front doors to open and was smelling gasoline very strongly in there so she proceeded to kick out the driver's side window and make an exit through there. Thank God she was not seriously injured. She got an ambulance ride to the emergency room and had Xrays and a Cat Scan done to make sure her internals were ok. Everything was fine. No broken bones or internal problems. She was pretty banged up, sore and bruised though. I'm guessing the insurance company will consider it a total loss.
Needless to say, we are VERY satisfied with the safety that this vehicle provided for my wife. She really loved her VUE and we plan on getting another. I'm trying to talk her into the Redline VUE at the moment, but of course, the decision is ultimately hers.
