The oil filter is located under the supercharger to the right. Almost right underneath the throttle body. Hope this helps. Don't forget to get 7 quarts of mobil 1 5w30w. I found out just the other day when I went to get my oil changed that they use the same filter that the 2.2 engine uses. You can buy that filter at almost any auto supply store. Don't let any saturn tech or service consultant tell you different. I have a very good relationship with the dealer and service manager where I bought my 4 saturns in the last year.

It doest look like your normal oil filter....When you look down between the supercharger and engine you can see a cap w/ a 32mm hex on top. That is where the oil filter is. It is a drop in.

filter

yes see the black plastic cap with the molded 1 1/4 inch or 32mm nut on top.

you have to remove the two bolts holding the cooling fill port for clearance of your hands while placing the socket on top of the cap and while removing the cap and the filter.

the drain plug is 18? or 19 mm? nut behind and under the engine. it has its own gasket built in so there is no need for replacement

6 3/4 quarts of mobil one and your good to go

ok, to get the filter:

stand on the passenger side of the car. duck under the prop rod. take your 32mm or 1 1/4" socket in your left hand. stick it down by the air intake elbow. curl your wrist around under the supercharger and throttle body and you should be able to set the socket down onto the cap.

get a long extension and stick it down from the top behind the supercharger snout into the socket and use a ratchet to unscrew it. put your hand back in there and hold the socket while you remove the extension and ratchet.

if you have one of those deep axle nut sockets, remove it. then reach back in there and remove the filter attached to the cap. you might spill a bit of oil.
