I just re-did mine some, wasn't happy with the full coverage so took off the paint from the carrier and left the piston housing red...

By the way, polishing is a bitch. Though about it, even took a wheel to part of it. Best results would come from removing the assembly, bead blast the parts to a smoother finish and then polishing.

That looks good. I'm trying to get a set of redline brakes from a junk yard. Then I will have time to play with them.... Then I thought maybe I could lend them to other RL owner so they could do what they want to with there brakes... Then not be with out a car.

Appartently, there are a couple of wrecked ones out there, as State Farm Just upped my premium $40 a year due to "vehicle experience" . Basically they say it is expensive to fix now that they have had to cover one.

By the way, you can still see the polish on the lower picture, vs, the shot above it. I like the matte finish more.

I just painted mine red over the weekend. I also painted the hubs black - rustiness was driving me crazy!
Good call on the hubs, when I paint mine I will paint the hubs black as well. Gotta take care of those extra details, rusty parts look crappy, more so when right next to bright red brakes and shiney wheels.

That looks really good, it adds a nice touch. I see some rust on mine so i think its a relatively inexpensive way to make your car look nicer. What type of paint id you guys use?? Any suggestions on how to make it last?

I used a kit made by Dupli-Color, it comes with all you need. Paint, caliper cleaner, brush, & stir stick. All you have to do is mask off & be careful. Lay down some card board or something to protect your garage floor.

I've actually seen the duplicolor caliper paint kit in my local Walmart. Maybe next time I pick up shotgun shells and beer(tm) I'll get my caliper paint too!

Did you guys put the car up on jack stands when you painted the calipers? If so, how long was did you have to wait for it to dry? I really can't have my car out of commision for a whole weekend at a time :-\
