hardware wise we are 100% go, I just dont like the factory base tune we are trying to modify. we are getting a reflash on the ecu to see if its a cleaner slate to tune off of. Sorry for the delay trust me we want to start selling product but we need a more consistent base tune.

psi fi air box?

Mark are you guys planning on releaseing anything to modify the stock airbox.

I remember you or someone over at psi-fi talking about our intake and airbox being good but just needs to be finessed a bit. I remeber someone saying no to an entire CAI or short ram, but yes for a mod?

Were speaking of something you guys may develop or release such as a new lower portion of the box that uses a quazi ram air fromt he front fender?

Or maybe im just wishful thinking

I gave your names to a guy I was speaking with from www.gravanatuning.com, they have went down the ECM road with HP already, before HP backed out on them. Maybe you guys can help each other a bit.

We are all VERY anxious about the parts these guys are coming out with, becuase they are gonna help get us that much wanted respect on the streets, but let them do their jobs. The longer it takes to come out, the better it should be when released. Let them get as many bugs out and inperfections while they still have their hands on it, instead of having to go back and fix alot after it is released. Thanks to the guys at PSI-FI for doin this, we all appreciate the work.

Excuse my ignorance but...
Just how will reflashing the ECM give you a "cleaner slate"? Are not all the offsets and tables pretty much "fixed" by the ECM design? You make it sound like a reflash will reorganize the "layout" or something (like a HDD "defag" :D ) Are you already using "pass-through" SPS as done by my Satty tech? (watched him do it once or twice)

Don't you psi-fi guys already have a calibration mod for the Redline that is reportedly able to alter (raise) JUST the rev limiter and/or speed limiter set points? I mean I'm not interested in altering my A:F or timing maps all THAT much from stock (still gotta pass emission test), but if I could just quit bouncing off that rediculously low rev limiter even by a few 100 rpm... I'd be willing to PAY$$!!

Ok i'll put it this way 8 times out of 10 when you hit the gas the airfuels will go rich and the car will accelerate normally. the other 2 times the car will go dangerously lean feel like its bogging and then go rich and will resume acceleration. the reflash is supposed to clean this part of the tune up. we are using a piggyback ecu to tune over the factory map and while the rest of the map is awesome the aforementined "lean outs" are sporadic/random and cannot be tuned for.

I'd much prefer it didn't go lean when I stabbed it. Especially with how fast the supercharger builds boost. Sounds like a recipe for an automatic trip to the engine shop.

I'll be paitent and wait for you guys to figure it out :D

I saw posts where people were saying it has something to do with o2 sensor speed/calibration... its like the car stays in closed loop too long after you go WOT.

Are you guys using the Smt-6 thats what it looks like to me in the pics. If it is thats Fantastic I had one in my S-10 to run the turbo setup so Im familiar with it.

Its based off of the SMT but much more advanced, we have several other maps and calibrations on our unit such as closed loop tuning(put in an air fuel ratio and the car self tunes) as well as sensor calibrations among others...

sounds good Mark. I know how tuning can go, when I did my street tune on my SC2, we made 17 dyno runs and spent a good 4 hours doing it, figuring out how the ECU reacted to changes where, before we started trying to get the AFR's we wanted

I wonder if it is in the programing or if the O2 sensor is just that poor on response time. I wonder if a wide band like the PLX wideband controller could be installed and just wire the NB simulator out put right into the car. If this is the sensor causing this it might be an easy fix and make tunning a hell of allot easier.
