Put the SCdyne header on today....

Not too bad of an installation. About 2.5 hours total time. The suckiest thing is about 2 or 3 nuts will not allow a socket on there so you have to use an open end wrench and get little turns on 'em. Takes forever. I used the old gaskets and have no leaks. I tightened it pretty damn good.

Now for the good stuff....

There is definitely an increase in power. I don't think it's an extra 30 horses, but feels like it could easily be about 15 or so. Who knows, the dyno will tell for sure.

The supercharger does whine louder and it deepens the exhaust not quite a bit. Instead of EEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeee, it's more of a OOOOOOOOOOooooooo. If that makes sense. :D

I won't be able to get her to a dyno for a while, but I can feel a difference in power.

Had to wax an F&F 2nd gen Eclipse on the test drive. Nice paint job and rims, slow car though. :D

Sweetness. Sounds like it was worth the frustration.

Happy tohave you to lead some mods i like to do latter, i can trust your experience.
Latter on , when i will be abble to afford more i like to have your advice if you agree.

Sure, I'll get some up later today.

Yes, I used the stock gaskets. I really didn't feel like waiting another week for the dealer to get some new ones in. It's not really THAT big of a job and I could easily take it off and put new gaskets on later if needbe.

BTW- Drove the car again this morning, and it just may be a 20+ HP increase. I can't wait until someone gets this thing to a dyno. I won't be able to until the end of the month.
JPK do you plan on going to the track...i would really like to see the time differences with and without the header...have you run your redline at the track before?

I haven't been to the track yet. I've raced plenty of times on the street though. :p

I plan on going sometime this summer. Not sure exactly when though. '

The nearest 1/4 mi. track is an hour and a half drive one way. :(
How did you unbolt the stock exhaust from the stock manifold? What did you use to get it apart.
congrats man, its nice to see one mod jump the car 2 whole vowels from eeeee to ooooo, hahaha :D

keep us posted!!

Ummmm...took the bolts off. :p I think you answered your own question there, didn't ya?

Seriously though, it's all just bolted on w/ studs and nuts. Taking the stock manifold off was freakin' cake. Hardest part was the three bolts attatching the manifold to the piping. I had to use plenty of WD-40 and muscle.

Remember, on those, a breaker bar is your friend.

Here are the sizes you will need for removal and installation:
Downpipe hardware-
3/8" drive ratchet and breaker bar
15mm deep socket
10mm x 1.5 x 30 or 35 mm bolts (use stock nuts) the head on these bolts is a 17mm (This is just for the SCdyne header. Others may vary.)

Manifold to engine
13mm deep socket (1/4" drive will work on these)
13mm open end wrench for a few nuts on the installation
Use stock studs and nuts

Did you throw any SES lights? Everything that was their stock hooked back up to the new header?

No lights so far.

There is a sensor (O2 sensor maybe?) that screws into the stock maniflold. There is a place on the header that it screws right into as well.
Oh, I have some errands to run right now. I'll get the pics of the stock manifold up as soon as I get back.
Muy bueno. Glad you finally got one, and that it seems to be working well!

DYNO!!
