I have been researching and recently discovered that Quaife may only be available from GM Performance parts for the RL. It is the same part as the Cobalt. Same tranny!
If I can get it, I will try but don't hold your breath!!

I was sure that I read where the Cobalt and Ion use different transmissions - make sure of this before you start dropping major bucks.

from all i've read, the RL and SSs/c use the same transmission, but the cobalt has different gearing. there hasn't been much to that lately though.

Dont be fooled. They both have the same tranny, and same gearing to my knowledge. All the rest is speculation.

call them they have the one you need they will give you the part #. but yes it does exist.

there have been different gear ratios posted that i believe were from the GM website, but i haven't read/heard anything about it lately, so it's more than speculation

according to the service manuals the trannys are the same gear ratios and all. They were going to have a differnt tranny but it wasnt working correclty to easy to break.

awesome, that means we will be faster as long as we weigh in less like we should, not to mention having 17s instead of 18s.

it'll still be a drivers race.

didn't someone price out the LSD before? i think it runs ~1500USD

doubt we'd be able to get enough to do a group buy on that one though

from quaife its 1499 but if we can snake it from the dealer it should be cheaper till you go for install.
