Has anyone seen a Redline or installed in their own Redline, the sporty little auto-dimming mirror with the compass in it? I know there are 2 different types of mirrors other than the standard one. I would really like to get the self-dimming on with the compass built into it, might have the temp sensor as well. Anyone hear/know anything about it?

I test drove a QC3 with a rear view mirror like the one you describe but haven't seen it on a RL.

NOT Available on the Red Line. I checked it out. You need a new wiring harness as well as a sensor yada-yada-yada. it's a lot of work for no gain. My $.02

Yep, I looked at it also and found that there would be a bit more wiring than I would like to do to a new car. I had the auto dim, compass/temp mirror in my z71 and actually grew to really like it. Mainly for the auto dim feature. The Redline sits a lot lower and I find that I get a lot of headlight blast in that mirror.

May do it after a while still.

Headlights

I've actually found use for my huge wing in the back. It makes a great headlight shield. Every car that pulls behind me at a stoplight as the lights hidden from my eyes! Works out good. I still would like the self-dimming mirror, and the compass feature is pretty useful when you drive in the city. It's great to know which way I'm gonna turn when the directions say 'go west on Lake St.' and I'm not incredibly familiar with the area.

2 solutions:

1. You can get your windows tinted - does wonders.

2. Get the Redline Aero-wing - it blocks headlights perfectly!

That link posted to the reaview mirror is nice, $200 is a bit to pay for it, but it comes with all 3 features that I like.. Damn, how come Saturn couldn't make it that easy to install at the dealership...
