I didn't really update people here, but I recently sold my 2004 Redline due to a financial hardship I got into. I have pulled out of that and found myself missing my car

Fast forward to last week. I saw an ad on Marketplace for a 2006 Redline with the comp package. I messaged him, but he already had a potential buyer lined up for today (Sunday) he said if it falls through then I'll get my shot. I thought for sure I missed my chance until late last night he messaged me and said his potential buyer was running into difficulties and couldn't make the trip, so boom I got my chance.

Now I wasn't prepared for this being the banks were closed for the weekend and I couldn't access my money. But I was determined, and made it work. We drove out there and 2 hours later I drove this baby home.

Yes she has alot of miles, the clutch will need to be done, and noticed a few other minor things but she's a very clean bone stock GM Stage II comp Redline, and that's what I wanted

Btw he said he's a member here too so from one member to another, thank you! She will continue to be cared for

Well to update everyone. So far I have done

-replaced aftercooler pump
-installed K&N cold air intake
-Ortiz Custom Pods with Aeroforce Interceptor gauge
-Mustang Cobra supercharger coolant tank
-new window moldings
-mesh screen lower front bumper
-updated timing guide plug

Now I'm working on getting the clutch done

Nice ! I want the red one ... or wish I had both blue and red - 2 IRLs

Engine sounds good for those miles - wow!

That says it all ... when you have to have the IRL after letting go (y)

Update: just installed a 2.5 exhaust and downpipe from ZZPerformance. Also put a bung extension on too for the o2 sensor



Also ordered a custom set of "Saturn" floor mats by Lloyds

Well to update everyone I installed
New white Aeroforce gauge
Custom made Lloyd's Mats
Dual pass intake manifold with new laminova core seals (not installed yet)

I was talking to a buddy about doing the timing chain and bought the components for everything. We set up for this Saturday to do the job and today the chain started making noise.

Normally I wouldn't care so much since I'm already getting it done, except I gotta drive the car an hour and 22 minutes away and kinda worried about the trip 😬

Those Matt's look pretty good! Id say get an oil change and take it easy on the car. My last base model made it from Chicago to Houston with chain noise. Lmao

Well update time: I managed to schedule everything in the middle of the the major snow storm that came through Michigan last week. The car got stuck 3 times, really burnt the clutch getting her unstuck and threw a p0172 code! But I finally got her down there lol.

Turned out the upper guide broke and was headed into the oil pan! It got too far that it cannot be pulled out without removing the pan unfortunately. The oil pan is being removed and cleaned and all old rements of the chain retrieved. This is the progress so far

She will have a new chain, cleaned and resealed oil pan, and fresh oil

He said we caught it just in time

Man I lost my first eco to that top bolt. I know the pain. And bent 12 valves in the process.
Glad you caught it early man. You'll get back to ripping shortly 🤙

One of the biggest hurdles in removing the oil pan is the oil dipstick tube. I'm happy to report he was actually able to get the tube out without breaking it like so many others have done. He modified his own tool to do it

If anyone is interested in how he did it or you need advice on removing yours contact Bobby Ball on Redline Forums FB groups

But he got the oil pan out, retrieved the broken pieces, put her back together with the new timing chain and oil, and she's ripping

I'm having him do some suspension work for me to since she developed a rather noticeable noise and not having a garage in Michigan winters blows. So far this guy has taken very good care of my car.

Can't wait to have her back! She's getting tires next
