Thank God! My dad is already planning to get a SKY now I'll tell him to wait for the Red Line version!
I think after the trouble i have been getting trying to find a Ion Redline maybe its a sign to get a Sky Redline!!!!! :D (heres to hopin)
That is going to be one sweet ass car.
Rumor is that it will come out in 2007 as a 2008 model with the Saab turbo ecotech tuned to put out around 240hp.
I'll believe it when I see it! I looked at the Solstice a couple of years ago, under the impression it would be out when I finished college. Here I am 2 years (almost) out of college, and it's nowhere to be seen. Since it's the same car as the Sky, it been almost 3 years since I saw the 'nearly finished production model'. Where the **** is it? The Sky and the Solstice should have been out years ago, and they were supposed to be 240+ horsepower. I call BS until I see one in a showroom, the Cobalt SS was supposed to be out months ago too, and where is that?

Where did you here that? I would expect it comes out next year, seeing as the sky isnt even out yet, why would it take that long?

I'm telling you, the Solstice was developed first, and it's not out yet either. It had a projected development date somwhere around 2003, it's 2005 now. What anyone who saw the Solstice in it's inital autoshow tour was told, was that the car was near development, this is 90% of production parts, it will be out next summer, maybe next year at the latest. Three years later it's still nowhere to be seen.

There are a couple of good inside info message boards for GM.

Powered by a turbocharged 253HP 2.0L Ecotec engine

TURBOCHARGED!!??

Here is a photo they had, don't know if it's the real thing or just a regular Sky.

Yep, that's a picture of the standard one from the Chicago Auto show.

Solstice comes out this fall and Sky late Spring '06.

That Solstice has been coming out this fall for 3 years. Sorry, really pissed about the lag on that car!

Fall/Winter seems like a great time to introduce a convertible to me
On a side note, I would be willing to bet that this 250hp 2.0t ecotech migrates to the Ion redline and cobalt SS in a year or two.

This information comes from a thread under the catagory "The Rumor Mill."
Do you have a link to GM saying it's official?

No, I don't. But even if it's not official, it's still something to be excited about!

I thought this year is the last production year for the red line??...so I heard...I read it on a post a while back.

Also, I can't see having an ion red line and a sky red line together. Too much in-house competition, although I think the sky red line would still sell more.
Redline = SS. they'll put it on as many cars as they want to. The upcoming Aura will have a redline version too.
