here is the link it is on the second page. but they don't believe that the RL put out 205 at the wheels they think its at the crank. I tried to tell them.

morons, my cousin has a 300 fwhp srt and he said he is very impressed with the RL. Those guys are just friggin idiots (from that forum). Let them talk shit all they want, soon enough we will be keeping up with the stupid lookin 4 door neon with a turbo

How the hell can they call the Cobalt a Cavalier? For God's sake: it's an entirely NEW vehicle in every way, shape, and form. Just because it's replacing a Cavy doesn't mean it still IS one.

Underrated is very nice. I was just working the numbers in my head. My car dyno's at roughly 240hp/tq at the wheels (I haven't dyno'd mine, but there are a number of people who have). That gives me a gain of roughly 40hp/70tq over the Redline. However, my car also weighs roughly 300 lbs more, which you can argue robs roughly 30 equivalent hp in comparison.
It could definitely be a drivers race stock for stock. The gains on the 350Z are modest when modding, requiring a good deal of labor and parts for mostly small gains as N/A(cams, headers, exhaust, lightened CAI/popcharger,etc.). F/I is quite another story with the APS kits currently the best thing available.
I think the Redline is a great little car, and I'm here to see what type of potential it has. Assuming the internals can handle it, and someone is willing to spend some time tuning, dialing up the boost and "breathing" mods should yield some impressive results. If there are any Redline owners in the Ocean County/Middlesex NJ area... I'd be interested in seeing more of the car.
For now though - I'll give them a nod and say "nice car for 20k".

Gotta love GM for their underrated power stats. (same deal with our cars: same RWHP as the Corvette, but GM didn't want us taking away any of the 'Vettes thunder, so they underrated us by about 25-30 h.p. below the 'Vette lol)

Yup. My Fiance has a 2002 Camaro SS, and it's the same thing.
Btw, I'm from Dubuque, and I'll be driving back up there from Florida in a few weeks so if you happen to see a blue Redline crusing around the Quad Cities and/or Tri State area with Florida plates, that's me.
