Supercharger blowout!

:( I took off from a stoplight in one of my more ease into it modes and the car coughed and almost died. The coolant warning light came on so I pulled over and checked oil and coolant. Both were OK. I started it up again and had the check engine light also on so I had it towed to Saturn. They said that the water cooler on the supercharger blew out. They special ordered the part for today and hopefully it was just a fluke. Any ideas?

Yikes, if coolant from the intercooler came out and went into the engine there may be more damage than just the damaged cores  That is kind of scarry. Did the engine still run?, if so how well did it run. Coolant in the cylinder is not a good thing.

I keep leaking coolant from my supercharger as well. I am not noticing any on the ground, but it is probably evaporating when touching the charger. We'll see.
It ran but a little rough. I just got a call from the garage and they said it is fixed however I didn't talk to them yet so I post more later.
was it an inlet hose or something..... Where exactly did it blow?
I think he's saying the aftercooler core broke... are you familiar with our intercooler setup?
yup.. Im pretty familiar with the setup... but I was just curious as to where it blew out at.... and if it was the core itself.... who the hell manufactures them.... so i can avoid them.
Laminova? It's supposed to be one of the best out there... I've read alot of good things about them on the net, comments and reviews and such. I'm not sure what else is using them, I think the Saabs have them, not sure what else.
More info coming

When I get a chance I will post the exact items they replaced. It wasn't the cooler after all but some modules. I got it back and it runs great. I'll keep ya all posted.

The details

Technician was unable to communicate with the PCM/ECM...claimed it was shorting out. Replaced ECM, programmed and relearned crank shaft position.
Emission fuse blown. supercharger inercooler pump shorted. Preplaced pump, replaced fuse, and cleared codes. VEH now operating as designed. Transfer pump, charge air cooler radiator.

That's all it says on the service invoice. It runs great again so hopefully it was some fluke and not a GM lemon.
this is probobly because the intercooler pump was wired backwards, did it just recently start to get warmer by you?

as in since it's been nice out, you've taken her out for some spirited driving? could be it got overheated because of the mixed up wiring
Warm? Y gotta be kidding!

I live in the desert where temps tend to run around 100 everyday from mid May to October. Saturday was about 89 degrees and I was driving pretty mellow for me. I had a Blazer ZR2 that I leased and it was an electrical nightmare. After numberous tows and endless electrical items being replaced, a tech found a loose ground on the back of the engine block. After fixing that it never failed again. The problem with todays autos is the computer controls that basically run everything. They are great when functioning properly but can really make things messed up, especially in the hot climates.
