I have been looking at a dirty Supercharger for 7 years and not really knowing what to do.

So I decided that what the hell, I would paint it myself and if it does not look good, then I have to realize that no one will care either way. But I like to see a shiny supercharger when I open the hood.

I have done this for two days and will likely need a few more days to complete.

I started with a small area and it looked pretty good so I continued and again continued and said look , not bad.

tell me what you think - any tips please let me know

it takes some patience and time to do this with a small brush.

I still have a lot more to paint and I did not do the cracks and corners yet - using a small brush and it gets tiring.

thinking perhaps after the SC , I will paint the cover next to the oil cap - forget what this cover is called

- need to get a light grey or different shade of silver - think that this would look good

I must have had a lot energy that day because the next day of painting , I only finished a few more inches

I have completed the supercharger but not the snout which may not get done this year because it takes a lot of time

with a small brush it is a little inefficient

I am a non professional painter - I was thinking that too the other day - all this work and I will open the hood and see the dirt and I would guess peeling of the paint - but I have a secret paint, it is not regular paint - it is a lacquer and that's all I am saying . lol

hopefully the lacquer absorbs into the supercharger

I'll tell you this when I got the IRL in 2014 , I opened the hood and I saw the dirty old and dullness of the supercharger and I was a little disappointed.

This man keeps his bay clean!
I'm trying to tidy up my engine bay in both my 04 base model and 06 dodge stratus while I'm doing engine swaps in the two.
The base model isnt so bad. Just a rusty norther car. My stratus had a front main seal leak, valve cover leak, and oil pan leak when I got it. So cleaning several years of oil off that is fun. Lmao

I was always a little jealous of the members here on the forum who took off all the parts and painted them shiny and colors etc,

It is really a shocker when the hood is open
