after seven trips to the dealership for the same problem(posted many threads about it) a wise tech at my beloved home town Saturn stated "it might be an injector leaking" which would cause the black smoke and bogging out and with that woola my car has no more problems. He replaced all four injectors. Saturn corporate then called me and asked "for my troubles" could they make a car payment or extend my warrany to 4 yr or 50k miles for free. Now that is customer service!!!!! In the long run the extended warranty is my best bet so I will probably run with that or hell ask for both.

Now that sounds like the Saturn I know and love. :D I was wondering where they've been hiding out lately.

Glad it all worked out for you in the end.

I wonder how long that same tech has been telling people that's what the problem was. People were probably blowing him off for a month! So it was a leaky injector huh? What was leaking? Around the injector? Or was it leaking fuel into the cyl?
