Word of advice if it is wet...

Do not WOT in 1st gear

Try not to chirp into 2nd gear... you will loose traction around 4400rpms (torque peak) and it will be quite hard to get out of it.

yea traction is a problem like you guys said! I really sucked last night. I trapped 95mph but my horrrrrrrrible 60 ft times are what killed me. I sat there and spinned for like almost 2 seconds...... My bro with his redline managed a best time of 14.9 which i was proud of. My best was only a 15.3...... soo sad... Well i REALLY need to work on these launches. It was funny it was like new car night there, everyone had there new cars! I saw a wrx get a 16.1!!! There is always next time. Any tips on good launch techniques??

oh yea..... one more thing... dont drop the clutch.. Ride it out smooth.. My best times were when i feathered it, i would have gotten a 14 second run once but somehow out of nervousness i missed 3rd. well next year here we come!! I need to learn how to drive!! lol

Yea my first time at the 1/4 mile with my Regular QC 5spd (Now i have redline) i started off at 16.7's 16.8's then about my 3rd time there i ran consistant 16.5's i went from high 2.6 60ft times to mid 2.5 60 footers. The car was stock minus my home made CAI. Next season i will take my RL out and hopefully muster up some 14.9's the first time there. Great to hear you had fun.

worry about launching first, if you launch good our cars will do the rest. We have damn fast cars once they get off the line but its our 60ft's that kill us..... once i got out of first it was smooth sailing but it really kills us with our crappy wheel spin. Im gonna get some saturn L series rims and wrap em with some stickys for next time, maybe itll help with traction... But until my connections can snag some of those ill have to practice practice practice and hope for the best.

I personally will try and launch about 3500-3700 rpms in 2nd.
