Hello I have a 04 redline and the synchros in second gear is going out is there anyone left who rebuilds these because nobody near me does manuals anymore?
Thanks

Any self respecting transmission/ HD truck shop should be able to rebuild a manual. The tricky part is going to be finding parts. But if money is available, there are places that can make you better than factory synchros(molybdenum)

Where you from that no one does manuals?

I live in the heart of the Midwest I’ve called every transmission shop and they’ve all told to just replace it and wants to charge me between 3-4000 for a reman transmission

Oof, I'd think if you get to Chicago or Indiana..you could find an actual mechanic that repairs instead of just box switching. Component level repair guys are becoming a dying breed sadly.

I'm out in CO and we have a few shops thats specialize in rebuilding manuals only.

If you're in the heart of the Midwest, ZZP wont do it or has someone to recommend?
Well if you are willing can you send me the number to that shop I’d appreciate to talk to them about repairing mine instead of putting a new one in
I was just at my dealer and had them look up the syncro. They said a dealer in Michigan had one for about 290$. If you go to you local gm dealer I am sure they can either get it or give you the contact I to to that place. Can't help on a shop to do the work tough
Thanks I’ll give that a shot as well I just figured the car was to old for them to worry about such parts
If I remember right they are discontinued but there is sowtfware the dealers can use to check availably box parts at oftger dealers and that is where they found it.
Oh gotcha good information it’s either that or I can try and find a issued one online but even then that’s probably sketchy

yes GM dealers can locate parts at other dealers sometimes even find parts at other dealers for less then cost. they should be able to print you out a list of some of them that have stock. at least that's what they did when I worked there.
