Gosh...that sounds too good to be true. guess what that means.
Actually SOME fuel injector cleaners do work. I bought some of the Lucas Oil stuff, and got an extra 30+ miles per tank. Not bad if you ask me...Jim Lewis said:Again, the automobile manufacturers get MILLIONS in incentives from the government in the form of tax breaks if they hit mileage (CAFE) bogeys. If it worked like they said, GM would be putting them on Cavaliers and Ford would have them on Crown Vics. And every auto magazine in the world would be freaking out over it.
Since none of that has happened, combined with my understanding of how it allegedly works, I know it's money-wasting bullshit, just like the Tornado, STP gas treatment, most fuel injector cleaners, etc.
I did, too - my older brothers (MUCH older) were really smitten by these newfangled additives and nearly ran their cars and trucks exclusively on STP Gas Treatment...they wanted me to use all the stuff, and I did - the octane booster, the fuel injector cleaner EVERY tankful...until I was able to see dyno results from real products and see where the adveristers came up with their words.Sp00ner said:I remember when I was 16, I used to dump octane booster, fuel system cleaner, you name it, into the tank. I thought every $20 item on TV or on the shelves was a miracle product. Man was I wrong alot.
