Twin Charged Mini S

Anyone see this article in Sport Compact Car? Sharp Precission Instruments combined the OEM Roots supercharger (stock) and a Garnett GT28R turbocharger. Aside from the suspension and brakes the rest of the car remained stock - pretty much - except for cosmetic changes. They claimed 265 whp on a Dynojet dyno. (I think a stock "S" runs around 175 hp.) No mention of the price this kit runs for though.

That sounds just like Psi-Fi's Twincharged Mini Cooper S... you sure about the builder there? I'm sure more than one place could do it of course...
Yeah, it's SPI - for short. Of course at 42 I had to put my glasses on to read it........I picked the mag up as my wife still pines for a Mini S.
Ahhh, I've heard of SPI before, don't know anything about 'em. The same company that is building our boost kit, and the twin-charge kit for the Redlines and SRTs have the same setup!
Doesn't mention a web-site. Anyone have a site address for them or any info on this company? I'd be interested to learn more about the Mini (for my wife) and of course the application for the Redline.
I mentioned awile back about a test car in arizona but nobody acted interested, Anyhow it was Hubie from SPI that gave intrest into twincharging our car. He has lots of experiance in twincharging. Currently he is working on making over 350 horse on the MINI's, keep in mind they are running 1.6 liter engines so just imagine what they could do with ours so if anyone is still interested pm me and I will get you in touch with him.

Hope this helps.
someone needs to step up already
There is also an artical toward the front of that issue that talks about twin charging in general, good read, relates to what gets discussed here. They got 262 hp to the wheels on that Mini, and that car has a smaller engine, intercooler, and supercharger than our car. I think a twin charge on our motor will get us to the 300 club after reading that article. Seems as though twin charging is all the rage now.
I know you may not care about this but i think its pretty sweet. There is a company in GR michigan that wipped together a one off twin charging kit for a grand prix gtp. They used i believe a t77 turbo and the stock m90 blower. I dont hink they dynoed it but it made 1 pass with sever traciton issues at [email protected] or somewhere really close to that. It was put togeter like 2 days before the track outing so the setup looks scetchy but cool none the less.
